Blue-AWAY

or:
Drag-IN,
Ram - not a drag-in?

Putting the first one in party chat pretty much always keeps people out of the AOE in cutter's cry at least

My first thought was that it was from when Omega crashed, but it doesn't even remotely line up with the size or location of the actual impact crater.

I ran through the level 52 MCH quest too. I'm guessing that the best case scenario is to Overheat right before activating Wildfire? If so, should I be holding on to Wildfires until that's up, or should I just use it when it's available and consider the overheat a bonus if it happens to line up?

Also, goon, former presidential candidate, and famous ear model Ross Perot helped me beat snakemom up last night. The end is in sight! Maybe.

I'm guessing it's over by the mountain with a hole in it.

Ideally yes you want to Wildfire while overheated, but it's difficult to line up perfectly all the time at lower levels. If you're a couple GCDs away from overheating, and WF is about ready to go, hang onto your combo until you're ready. If you're really far away from overheat, just use it up.

Heat management will start to come into play more at 60+ when you get the Heated shot combo and other good tools. Until then, overheating is a nice damage buff you occasionally get and can't really control too much.

You'd think something that lasered a clean hole straight through a mountain would have left behind something a bit more impressive than the Comet's Tail but fantasy game physics.

Considering that there's no purple glowy stuff on the inside of the mountain, the entirety of Comet's Tail is what's left behind. It's had a lot of years to settle.

What's the best way to take care of dungeon trash as a SAM? Is it worth spending the first GCDs gathering all the buffs or is it smarter to just start spamming the AoE attacks as soon as possible?

In AoE pulls you can pop your combo cooldown to get Jinpu up and do your two AoE finishes.

Then hopefully by the time jinpu runs out everything will be dead.

Another newb question, if you would.

Started as a healer in Gridania (because Windurst was the best fight me) and going through the story missions. Will I be able to, on another class, do the "starting quests" in the other cities? I don't really want to roll an alt to see that content, and I'm *assuming* they all come together in the end?

no but that's very little content overall, they come together around like level 11 or 12-ish? whenever the main quest gets you to visit the other two cities
