I'm hoping it gets transferred to heroin court, the program we have up there just for heroin offenses because there's so many. The only thing that worries me is the quanitity.

My dad did a bit for trafficking but it was in NC In the 80s, I have more than a few friends in and out here in WV but no one close so I'm not as familiar with the details as I used to be.

I have a buddy (hell he's more like my little brother than a buddy tbh) in prison on drug charges, poo poo's hosed man. Hopefully his stint is as low as possible, I shell cash hand over fist keeping my buddy stocked with canned fish (the healthiest food they offer) and shampoo.

One of the benefits of living in LA is that we still have dope independent video stores.

$30/month for 4 movies/day (120 rentals a month if you're insane). They carry new releases from Criterion, Arrow, Eureka, Vestron, Vinegar Syndrome, Kink Lorber, Shout and a couple other indie labels. They also have a porn wall covered by a velvet curtain.

The heroin epidemic right now is atrocious, I've known several friends of friends that have passed away just this year from it.

I'm sorry that he's going through drug charges, but at least he's alive.

I watched Trainspotting and it's sequel recently, both very good, and two things that are now almost guaranteed to get me to cringe in a film is cannibalism and heroin use.

One time a guy stole some downhill skis out of my jeep and I was so mad I punched a mailbox. I'm against crime, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
I'm off work this week, so I took my car in for some long overdue repairs. I was expecting the repairs to take one morning and cost about $500. I got a quote from the shop and it turns out there's way more wrong with my brake system than what I expected. I sent the quote to my buddy, who knows a lot about vehicles, and he said what the shop recommended is reasonable and should be done. So long story short I'm out $1700 and a vehicle for the next few days. I also just realized I left my gym shoes in my car, so I can't even go there to kill time. I think I'm going to get day drunk and watch movies.

It's not just the cost, Lloyd Kaufman's wife is the film commissioner for New York, so it's probably easier for the guy to get the shooting permits and poo poo in that area.

I'm curious to see what other people think.

I'm kinda biased because the way my internet works, I can't use streaming services, so Netflix IMO can bite me. Amazon is cool because they seem to be interested in a more traditional movie studio experience, and honestly they seem to have better taste than Netflix as well. I'm big on seeing movies in the theater though, I really like the giant screen and the people seeing it with me; if I had seen something like Get Out (which in a different life definitely could have been an indie that got picked up by Netflix) on my own TV instead of in the theater, I'm sure I still would have liked it, but seeing it opening night with a crowd really added something that you can't get on your TV.

I still think that whole "Screening Room" thing that Sean Parker is involved with isn't ever going to be a massive success. The only things people watch on their own TVs that cost that much are Pay-Per-View sports, and those have the extra bit of being live and it seems like stuff like WWE PPVs or UFC fights or boxing matches wouldn't attract the same audience as movies.

Is Netflix actually at a point where they're making money? Is Amazon? I'm not sure if they're in an Uber-esque situation where they've got a whole bunch of VC money or if they've actually gotten on to profitability. I feel like there's a limit to the amount of money Netflix is going to be able to make just selling streaming subscriptions. I don't know where that limit is, but I don't see them ever competing with the major studios on their own grounds; I don't think we ever see a big franchise success like Star Wars, Avengers, etc. from them.

- Drink every time Shia goes "no no NO NO!"
- Drink every time Bumblebee "speaks"
- Drink every time Skids and Mudflaps speak (second movie), you'll need it
- Drink every time there is blatantly obvious product placement
- Pour a forty when TJ Miller's character dies (fourth movie)
- Take a small sip whenever the aspect ratio changes in the fourth film (this kills all attendants).
