I said I'm living with an immunosuppressed person (which is, in my case, actually true) but no-one asked about anything other than my name at the location. So trivially easy to do, and I wouldn't worry about telling a slight fib. Or you could just turn up to a pop-up, as other goons have done. Or go to a pharmacy. Whatever, really, they're all gonna go to waste otherwise anyway

The online bookings, when they ask about immune compromisal or being a carer, have added a third option beyond yes/no which are variations of “maybe” which seem to put you straight through to a booking anyway. I'm balls deep in Disco Elysium again. There is no finer RPG imo. Every line is perfect. Even the most peripheral supporting characters are deeply drawn and living in a world that is believable and affecting. It's a work of art. Going full fash on this play-through.

The number of kids who aren't being taken to get their polio vaccination is more astonishing, tbh. You can roll the dice on Covid for your kid and they'll probably be fine, but if the polio outbreak has mileage and your kid gets it, that's a whole other level of bad.

99% of polio infections are asymptomatic too. That was my go to a couple of years back about how 1% is far larger than you think it is when you're rolling the dice on infectious disease.

I had flu a couple of weeks ago. Way, way worse than covid, would much have preferred getting the flu jab which I also am not allowed. But then I've had a couple of COVID jabs so who knows.

I would say please phone ahead if you're going to drop into a pharmacy for a Covid jab cuz we can't take walk-ins at all at my place. It's hilarious - there's the in-store system for booking vaccinations and then the NHS system, and the two do not interact, and we have until recently had no access whatsoever to the NHS system. So people would come in for their Covid booster having sometimes travelled quite far, and find that we didn't have a pharmacist who could give it, or we'd run out, and we had absolutely no way of warning them because we had no access to the appointment list. Or they'd come in and the pharmacist would be taking his lunch break. That was back when we had time for anyone to take lunch breaks. We are hosed at the moment. Half staff, they won't put the money up so we can't recruit, and it's almost Christmas. Augh.

UNISON Health have completely hosed their ballot, almost nowhere made the 50% return rate to allow strikes and everyone is very angry and sad about it. UNISON is awful. We need to get a few heads for a gently caress up this size and get some serious improvements in how we operate.
