Does anyone (particularly those who play with PN) play with a modified minimum damage % after DT is applied? The vanilla minimum of 20% frustrates me in a game with power armor and giant robots, and the PN minimum of 25% frustrates me even more. It's not so noticeable when playing a light armored low-str character, but trying to create a melee tank you really notice how sometimes with power armor + 2 ranks of toughness + big brained + med-x + adamantium skeleton + reinforced spine you still will get shredded by small arms or energy weapon fire. The only way to get my DT any higher would be with the Enclave power armor, but it's doubtful that would help since I'm already pushing into the minimum damage for most hits anyway.

It's not that unusual to have minimum damage but 20% seems really high. The max CtH in Fallout has always been 95% so maybe a combined minimum damage of 5% has the best symmetry. In NV DR is applied to damage before DT, so the minimum damage overall can be less than 20% in vanilla but there is very little the player character can do to increase DR.

I believe rope kid's mod adds some DR to medium and heavy armors. I could be misremembering though, as I always go with light armors myself.

I have that mod on, but still it feels quite off. Maybe PN rebalance is doing something funny but I feel like small arms fire is way too effective against power armor. For example with about the highest non-drugged DR/DT in the game (missing Camarader-E level 4 and with T51B power armor instead of power armor mkII)I can easily get below 50% health in two hunting rifle shots from the White Legs in Honest Hearts-- which is just where my game is saved on my current playthrough, I didn't pick them as representative of the game or anything

So I've been experiencing a weird bug: Once in game, when I press ESC, all the menu options are greyed out and I can't open any of them, except for the mod config menu. This problem kinda happened suddenly, had been playing for a couple of hours before without problems. Anyone has any idea what it could be? I'm running the 4GB NVSE executable, no ENB (had it before, but disabled it). Here's my load order:code:

I installed the Armory 2.5 and 2.9 for my new playthrough through FOMM, and when I fire my TT Tokarov, I get an exclamation point whenever I fire it, which fades away. I'm assuming it's a sound or muzzle flash that's missing, and the Tokarov is listed as in progress in the 2.9 README. Is this something I just have to live with for unfinished weapons? What's SHaM? Have you tried toggling Archive Invalidated? That usually solved plenty of my graphic problems when I had graphic problems. Actually, I think I had that problem once or twice. Yeah, try toggling AI in FOMM. Maybe redo your merged patch, too.

Also it adds miscellaneous apples to the game that are also throwing weapons. Actually, I want to make that my own dumb mod. Add a bunch of fruits to the game. It's lore friendly too, here's some pongas!

The FOMOD installer for MO is crap. The easiest way I've found to handle the issue is to manually install stuff like DarNified and the non-Data-folder mods, use FOMM to install FOMODs, and MO to deal with everything else. You *can* run FOMM through MO, but managing the "Overwrite" folder MO makes can be a pain in the rear end afterwards. Alternate answer - if a mod doesn't actually need the FOMOD to install (only places meshes/textures/esps, no conditionals, etc), do a manual install through MO.

APEX is a pretty awesome ENB preset, I have to say. Also for all the author claims it's an FPS-murderer I get better FPS with all the bells and whistles on using it than my prior ENB. This may not be a fair comparison, since I upgraded from something in the .161 range to the current .216 at the same time. But still, drat. I'm trying to do some comparison shots and I forget, what's the keystroke to disable ENB in-game? Of all the things to forget while Skyrim distracted me, this wasn't what I expected.

Heh, forgot about Cateye. I don't use chems that often, perhaps you can tell. And I've got Ratslayer sitting on my weapon wall. Welllll, oops. I went out on Lake Mead and the water reflected the skybox so I guess it does that. If someone else looks at nightvision, cool, otherwise it'll be a bit before I can get back to it.

That's probably as good a place to check as any. The place where it is most obvious is Zion, playing through that area with broken water is extremely painful. Thanks for investigating!
