There are some videos that come from our last show. Thought I'd share them. https://vimeo.com/29588691 This is an unreleased new song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu3qb1z2jNQ This is the song Alnitak off our newest album. The sound isn't as good on this video but I still enjoyed it. As always, check out https://www.spacescold.com for more.

You guys seem like you'd be awesome to see live. Preferably outside. It seems like the type of music that would be feel extra nice to close your eyes and space out to while the wind hits your face.

I'm looking for happy post-rock. I just listened to 7 Idiots and it is a total revelation for me. I want more of it. Doesn't have to be electro-heavy or anything, just something extremely positive and even bouncy

I saw The Antlers with Explosions in the Sky on Sunday. It was a great show, I was about 15-20 feet from the stage. Unfortunately idiots started standing up and ruining the view, but it didn't matter to much since they're more of a close your eyes and listen band.

That Russian Circles song is awesome. I still remember seeing them open for Fear Before way back when they had just put out their first album in a small rear end venue with about 30 people and being blown away by their live show. Probably one of the first post-rock bands I listened to.

Oh my god you guys, GIRAFFES? GIRAFFES! have a new album out and it's amazing and also dirt cheap. EDIT: On the topic of Russian Circles (totally pumped for a new album from them by the way) y'all should listen to this if you're a post-metal fan, it's kind of amazing. http://soundcloud.com/nasdaq-band Can't remember if I've posted this. but I love this band a lot. Post-metally and a bit mathy too. From Manchester, UK. They also do another act with the same people called FTSE 100 which is a little less rocky and more softer.

I saw them the night before in Baltimore; it was fantastic. The crowd was pretty good, too; the first 1/3 or so people would talk during songs and go "WOOOOOOO" whenever there was any bit of silence, but they eventually realized they should just be quiet (and the band even thanked the crowd for being so attentive ) Also, I promised to post a picture of my Caspian poster I got at the DC show a few weeks ago, but I've been bad with getting a picture, so here's what it looks like, except mine is autographed SgtScruffy fucked around with this message at 19:07 on Oct 5, 2011 |

Rageaholic Monkey posted:Saw Explosions in the Sky live tonight for the first time. They played Greet Death. Wasn't expecting that one at all. Needless to say I was blown away. Yea the set list was amazing as I was expecting more stuff off of the new album. Where were you standing? I wasn't impressed with the sound at all, I felt like one of the guitars wasn't close to being loud enough. Overall an awesome show though. edit; drat I wanted to be on the balcony but we showed up right as the opener finished. I guess we just weren't in the best spot for sound, on the heavier songs I could barely make out some parts and it was only because I knew it was there and was trying to listen for it. redz fucked around with this message at 05:15 on Oct 6, 2011 |

Live video of the first track on the new Russian Circles album. Audio quality isn't the greatest, but it gives you a good idea of how loving heavy it is (and you get to watch Dave Turncrantz do his thing for 7 minutes, which is always enjoyable), I cannot wait for this album.

I like it much better than pretty much all of the last album. Not that their last album was bad per se, it just wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear from 65daysofstatic. If it had been under a different name, I probably would've thought more highly of it. Anyway, this track sounds like older 65dos mixed with newer Mogwai or something. It's really great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOFZZ9y9w_Q I can't wait to hear the whole album if it's all gonna be this good.
