Molduga aren't really sand worms. They are more like fat shark crocodile...things. They're weird. VVV honestly they do kind of look like the shriekers (Ithink that's what they were called?) Internet Kraken fucked around with this message at 00:09 on Apr 17, 2017 |

The Lobster posted:Wait, the really short tower with the cliff next to it that you can just walk up to and you're at the top? Or the one, what was it, like Wasteland Tower, that has all those Lizalfos and Wizrobes and is surrounded by water at the bottom? Because one of those towers is an rear end to climb without Rivali and the other one you don't have to climb at all. Whichever one is right outside the Lost Woods with the military camp, I don't have it open right now to check. The first time I played through I had all the towers before touching any of the beasts, so I did most of them the "intended" way, which included "not realizing swamps can be frozen". The military camp one was fun except for that one metal-platform-electified-by-lizards section, which I distinctly remember because I spent at least a minute plinking assholes in the water to death with the 10 ATK bow I had on me at the time. Internet Kraken posted:The Military Camp Tower is like a cool mini dungeon that I think is really fun. I was really excited when my brother got to it and all of that excitement evaporated when I realized you can just cryonis hop over the swamp to the tower and ignore all the platforms. I feel like it should have been a "insta void regardless of context" because there were definitely a couple situations where puzzles were designed in such a way where you were supposed to wade into it, but it's touchy about poo poo like "if anything love taps you then you instantly drown". That said, I can't think of any situation where a swamp is situated where not being able to freeze it would remove other easily-usable cheese solutions, either via Rivali, or just setting 4+ bundles of wood on fire for an updraft.

In the castle, in the library there's some phazon blocking what blatantly looks like a doorway. This is on the bottom floor of the library. Where's the eyeball?

There's also one door Malice'd up that I could never find an eye for, up the hall from the dining room.

Yeah I just ran across the part I think you're talking about-- I don't see any eyes to open that section up at all, so I guess that's intentionally perma-blocked off either that, or they forgot to tie that doorway to the eye that's in the middle of the room coming at it from the dining area, which would make sense

Remember when I said bad things about the Thunderstorm Rod? I take it all back. Thunderstorm Rods are amazing. Using them on a frozen enemy does 100 damage, triggers an AOE shockwave, and doesn't even unfreeze them. You can just fry them over and over again. It's like putting Bokoblins in the microwave or something. It feels sadistic and wrong. It's wonderful.

So someone was wondering if you can shield surf down Death Mountain the other day and you kind of sort of can? Going from the star you surf down a super steep slope that will shatter Link's bones a few times before reaching the bottom/outright killed you. When you reach the bottom you have to glide across the lava ring but I don't think there's anywhere on Death Mountain where that won't be the case. But from there you just go down the slope that leads to Rok Woods and it'll be one "smooth" ride. Its basically a sheer cliff but you can go down the whole thing if you don't gently caress up. Its pretty drat cool. Oh and there's a Korok at the bottom of the slope because of course there is.

Favorite moment of accidental comedy in this game so far: Stalkoblins popping up in the middle of a group of wild horses and getting stomped into the dirt because horses don't give a gently caress and are not having any of their poo poo. EDIT: Second favorite: A Lizalfos popping out of the snow on Mount Lanayru, doing its little side-to-side shuffle, and then jumping backwards... off the side of the mountain to its death. Neither of us even swung our weapons. Spergatory fucked around with this message at 05:33 on Apr 17, 2017 |

This owns. Also the Molduga music was really good. While i think there are some legit criticisms that become apparent after you spend 150+ hrs into this game (like any open-world game honestly, i have way more gripes with AC, SoM, etc), the music was probably the most disappointing overall. Hyrule Castle was really the only major level with any music that wasn't nearly elevator-music. I can still fondly remember OoT/MM songs but in this I think the most I'll remember is Molduga fight music
