In my town it's a few hypergeneric CDU and SPD posters that are just a headshot of the direct candidate, and an absolute ton of MLPD posters. If you made your vote only according to who actually tells you poo poo on the posters, they'd have to get an absolute majority. And it's gotta be like one guy with a cart going round putting these up.

Und da jede Partei die besten Orte zum Plakatieren für sich haben will ist es dann um kurz nach Mitternacht zum spontanen Wahlkämpfer-Stelldichein von allen Parteien gekommen. Dürfte von außen recht lustig ausgeschaut haben, wie sich ein Haufen Leute um einen Baum streitet

I'm a little flabbergasted by the disparity in Windows 10 pricing. When I look at offers in the Microsoft shop, it's something around 135, and only gets me 14 bucks in student discount, for 121 bucks total. When I google "Windows 10 kaufen", I find some dubious-looking offers, but even on Amazon, I find Windows 10 Pro 64 bit versions for as little as EIGHT loving Euros. Is this legit? If so, how the gently caress is this legit? Is that the way to go? I just bought my first new PC since 2009, and wanted to be all set for the next couple of years, including automatic upgrades and all that good stuff

If you are enrolled in a STEMy department, check if you have MSDNAA. Often you can get a potato sack of free retail keys for Windows 10 and other cool stuff like Visual Studio from Microsoft directly. Nobody really pays for that stuff anymore personally, it's all about enterprise contracts now.

Cheaper licenses can be real licenses, they're usually either surplus academic/business volume license keys that people sell off on the open market (not sure if this is allowed), or licenses taken off broken PCs to be resold (Microsoft hates this, but lost a court case over it, so it's usually legit in the EU). Well, the worst case scenario is that you get a legit key, but one that's authenticated via a internal company key server for volume licensing, that it needs to re-autentificate every year or it stops working. So it might work up to one year and then stops, since it can't reach the key server any more. c't got a bunch of Chinese pre-built PCs with such a variant of Windows 10 when they direct-imported them for tests. Still, for 6 € you can buy a lot of one-year-keys before a legit license is cheaper.
