This year's is perfectly fine. Great balance on the coffee and chocolate. I've had 4 4packs and it's turning (once again) into my fall/winter daily drinker.

It's "Matilda Lambicus" and, from what I understand, it's Matilda dosed with brett lambicus rather than brett brux like it is normally. It's not a lambic and not intended to be a sour in the traditional sense (though some brett strains *can* contribute a little bit of sour). crazyfish fucked around with this message at 05:07 on Oct 18, 2013 |

It's the same as regular Matilda in every way other than being dosed with Brett Lambicus instead of Brett Brux. Personally I think the difference is subtle but nice - slightly more vinous and funky. But if you're not a huge fan of regular Matilda, don't go out of your way for it. Do, however, get this year's Bourbon County Coffee Stout once it comes out. It's made with a single-farm El Salvadoran coffee called Los Immortales that's loving killer. The samples I've had off of the bright tank are the best BCBS coffee I've ever had.

I've heard since from at least 2 other people that they thought it was much less coffee flavored than last year. YMMV, apparenlty.

That sounds pretty good. I was thinking of New Belgium's Cascara Quad, but it's got a bunch of other things. Mission Figs and dates seems like a weird combination, but I'm looking forward to Dubbel Dare provided it's Florida-wide.

I hate when the Bourbon County variants come out every year because the distributor in our county is terrible about Goose Island bottles. We never got Coffee, Cherry Rye, Bramble, Lolita, or Juliet over the past couple years. It's really annoying. Corb3t fucked around with this message at 18:42 on Oct 18, 2013 |

Oh no he di'int! Kiiiiinda lame to jump all over Boulevard like this, it's not like they sold off to a BMC offshoot, and given what the currently-discussed GI brand has been producing recently, even then I'm ready to give them the benefit of the doubt until I taste otherwise.
