I must be using the wrong resin, because my dice (using those molds) only the d6 ever comes out with all faces. And then when i polish them, they just scratch up to crap.

What resin are you using?

As im going to buy an opaque resin and try again

I use this (https://www.barnes.com.au/epoxy-resin/epoxyglass-clear-coating-resin-2145)

Yeah no problems. Loading times are poo poo but I'm using an old lovely SD card from a Bose store display. I'll try one of my nice Class 10 or better ones when I literally find where I've stashed them. I have PMs so feel free to hit me up there.

That's a coating resin (for laying down a varnish coat over paintings, or for liquid art). It's scratching up when you sand it because it sets with a bit of flex.

Give this stuff a try instead.

E: And for opaque resin I'm a huge fan of TC808, but be aware that it's a polyurethane resin so absolutely no water must come near it at any point, including your pigments. Dry pigments, alcohol ink and glitter are all fine. Also the work time is rough if you're used to epoxy resin - you have just enough time to add pigment, stir, and pour. If you are doing anything fancy, you need it all lined up ready to go because the time between 'ready to pour' and 'too thick to pour' is not long at all. You can buy more time by chilling the resin in the fridge, but not much.

You know, ive been using this stuff unsuccessfully for months and just as i pasted that link im like, coating?????

Im putting in an order right now for both of those.

That polyurethane should be ok as i use the pinata alcohol inks https://www.barnes.com.au/translucent-dyes-inks/pinata-alcohol-ink-14ml-2312

Haha, the only reason it stood out to me is I researched all their epoxies recently myself, and that coating resin was on my 'maybe?' list for far longer than it should have been :v:

Pinata inks are great, but you can also use copic inks if there's a specific colour you need and you don't want to have to mix from primaries every time.

Also, on topic for the thread, this AliExpress store may be relevant to your interests. They do powder pigments in chameleon, UV reactive, hot and cold reactive and glow in the dark.

It's really easy. Videos and blogs will tell you to get a pressure pot and make proper moulds and make sure you print your own master dice and bollocks. 100% pure gatekeeping. I started with a set of those moulds, literally the cheapest resin I could find on Amazon, some old Citadel paint, and some glittery bits out the bottom of our Christmas wrapping bag. Every time I need new moulds I look at the expense and time needed to make some "proper" ones.... and order another set of these squishies off Ali. You might not get them to sale quality, but you'll get some great dice that are fully functional as dice and who said you wanted to sell them anyway? Also you can get little moulds to pour your spare resin into and honestly how could you not want this as a byproduct:

Check the tracking number against the other orders you have?

sleepy gary
Jan 11, 2006

Yeah cross reference tracking numbers. If nothing matches, it might just be brushing. That's when sellers fake orders but actually send something so there is legit tracking information. Then they give themselves good ratings and order volume to pump their stats. And you get a free piece of poo poo in the mail.

I had that happen to me with Amazon. Got a few packages of random junk, only thing good was a set of LED solar lights. Took like 5 phone calls for them to realize that no, I don't have a second account ordering random crap from China.

I do that on my regular account and on AliExpress. Idiots.

You know what, I've known about this scam but only just realized it's probably the source of the ugliest sandals I've ever seen and my wife loves. She said she ordered something else and wasn't expecting them.

I had random items show up from Amazon and after a few calls we figured out someone made a second Amazon account after stealing my CC info and were placing orders and buying Amazon prime. They sent everything to me, I’m not sure what the point was.

If they were doing it to leave reviews it would have worked better if they ordered me the item once. I wouldn’t have followed up or noticed.

I went through like 18 months of CC statements to untangle it all, so maybe check and make sure. They got me for like $5 a month so it was easy to miss, but I’m glad I stopped it.

I’d go over your Amazon charges with a fine toothed comb and match all of them up to make sure.

Mine was just the address, far as I can tell. No charges I didn't expect from Amazon, so I assume it was just reviews being funded with stolen gift cards. I mostly just called it in so there'd be a record of me going "hey, this isn't me" if anything came up.

It's good to be suspicious. The seller may have just mixed up shipping labels, but you're not responsible for goods sent to you and can keep them if you wish (in the US at least):

I just opened this thread to say the same thing. The most recent Ali thing I bought was that chair green screen linked a while back. Shipping in the brushing items says they shipped 2 days after I ordered the green screen.

They came from an address in Vernon California that's associated with a Vernon wholesale club with terrible BBB complaints/reviews.

The unordered stuff was 3 pairs of ugly "hyper soft" shoes in eu size 40 if anyone was curious.

Thanks (and to everyone else too). I can't tie it to any tracking number I'm expecting so maybe they just put my label on something random? I'm not concerned about keeping it but wanted to know if something I actually ordered isn't coming.

If you go through my post history in this thread you'll find examples I what I personally have experience with. If that's not possible for any reason, I can do a bit of a gallery effort post with links. That SD2Pro is pretty darn good and better than what I bought as it has better custom chip compatibility. That's basically what you need to look for; custom chip compatibility (SA-1 etc for SNES). Do remember that Krizz has for a while been good at detecting fakes/clones and I wouldn't trust trying to upgrade with official firmware.

LOL, realised I posted now essentially what I posted under your quoted post haha. Out of interest where/who recommended me? Probably from one of the obsolete tech threads.
