I feel 9 could go a lotta ways, but I stand by my answer of Ford whatever happens for 10. If we're talking specific models it'd definitely be a lot closer, but between the Model T (first truly mass-produced car), the Flathead (first recognizably modern V8 car engine), and the Mustang, they had their hand in a lot of sea changes in the way cars were perceived at large.

I went with Ford for the whole manufacturing line thing in question 10, but Mercedes and Volvo were both options that I considered. Both contributed a lot to modern cars.

Yes, but planned obsolescence has probably had the second biggest effect on the automobile industry, period. And while it was really a gm exec (sloan) who applied it to the automotive industry, im still counting it under "chevy".

Nuh uh, it says 'from days gone by.'

Inline-eight is the only answer (edit: and V16, because it's two I8s and thus twice as nice), everything else should be disqualified.

Wankel doesn't even count as an engine, it's more of a paperweight that occasionally, when the stars align and the right blood sacrifices are made, makes a small amount of power.
