Nah j.mk is still has a really forgiving crossup hitbox, you're probably just not used to sf5 jump angles.

s.mp s.mp then jump in mk should space you out to crossup range

It's the League of Legends mentality of "Only popular people get skins because we know people will buy them."

To this day, Yorick hasn't gotten a skin since his launch, even after a complete overhaul, and that was five years ago.

I think I finally found a character I halfway enjoy in this game. I was really frustrated with how Ryu doesn't feel like Ryu from SFIV, but at the same time having him be my best character. I have finally embraced M. Beerson. Getting drunk, pushing lots of buttons and being plus on everything is pretty good.

Thinking of picking up bison, with the patch delayed my Alex is feeling the pain.

I'm still pretty bad with charging in this game compared to SFIV, but I'm having a decent time with him. A lot of that might be that I'm low points and smashing people that have no idea how to deal with him, so we'll see how long that lasts.

bison is one of the easier charge characters in sfv
if you don't have charge just do his qcf as a combo ender

Jack Trades posted:

I've read someone's write-up about why SFV just isn't a fun fighting game to play and his main point captured the core problem I have with the game perfectly (besides "everything" I mean).

The core problem with SFV is that there's barely any way to express yourself.

In SF4 for example you could get good results by playing in a variety of different playstyles. Maybe you're a combo monster that lands all those dumb 1f links all day long, or maybe your spacing is so good that nobody can press a button against you, or maybe you have godlike reactions that you exploit or whatever.
Meanwhile in SFV all characters are so homogenized and a lot of mechanics are either streamlined, removed or just aren't practical that you're simply left with very little options in how you can play SFV.

I can honestly deal with SFVs garbage netcode, poo poo normals, gimped Vega, F2P business model, etc if only the game let me play in an enjoyable way, something other than rushdown all day every day.

Yes, this is half of it. The other half is that Capcom didn't commit to the game they were intended in making.

They knew very well what game they were making and it was something that they could pay to put on TV and sell skins in and I bet the game is actually doing really well financially for them.

they sold less of a game that was more expensive to produce and was only done so because they got outside money

given that situation, i am going to go ahead and say they are making enough money to justify the DLC and little else.

I've seen Colin play. and she seems, not worth coming back to the game for but ok.

And I see no other character has come out yet for season 2 and evo's 3 months off sooo...

yes but also

the launch was a loving train wreck, they should have at this rate just released it F2P and just charged for seasons and had season 1 available for purchase day 1 at 39.99.
