My ex laughed loudly as she told some friends that when she 'was a kid', she thought black people had black semen, and when one of them asked how old she was when she thought this, she responded she was 22.

She was 27 when she told the story.

GET LOSE, YOU CAN'T COMPARE WITH MY POWERS
gahhh i'm so mad at this one

My wife [19 F] thinks [23 M] I don't love her!

quote:

I live in California and have a very nice but busy life. I'm a very high-income earner and my days and weeks are packed full. To ensure I can have "me time" (reading, exercise, language practice, etc.), I wake up at 5:10 a.m. every day and, to make sure I get good sleep, I fall asleep at 10:10 p.m. (laying in bed at 9:58 p.m. so I can fall asleep in 10-12 minutes). My wife, though, likes going to sleep at 12:00 a.m. and waking up at 7:45 a.m.

The problem is, my wife wants me to stay up with her to take her out to a restaurant, go with her friends at night, have sex past 10:00 p.m., and do things with her like cook or bake. I'm incredibly tired by that time and want to wake-up refreshed and go to sleep on time. Some days, I do stretch out my days and will only sleep 1-5 hours a night (this will be rare) but 97% of the time, I don't.

Sometimes, I don't even see her for 1-3 weeks because of business, coding marathons, etc. and literally, have no time to even respond to texts or emails. However, I'm pulling in a lot of money and am able to buy great things for her and I (and our baby, she's 1 month pregnant) and invest my money. She has everything a woman could want from beautiful clothes to a beautiful house.

I know she wants to bond with me when I'm home, but even then I'm very busy. I know she's very young (19 years old) and wants the social night-life but that's something I don't like doing often. She wants me to stay up but I really don't want to. I've told her that I'm very busy and can't stay up having sex or going out but she argues and cries saying I don't love her and that she's always alone (she has girlfriends over most days, though).

I love her and our baby but I really do need to work; I can't afford to stop or cut down on that. All I do (aside from my short morning routine), is work daily but it's something I enjoy doing. I don't want her to feel like I don't love her. I want to give her some time at night but can't afford to be tired for the next day. This has gone one for about a year now and doesn't seem like it will stop. I sometimes have the sense that divorce may be looming and feel so bad.

I know she deserves more time. I work from 8:00 a.m. and come home at 9:20 p.m. most days. Then I prepare for the next day, work a tiny bit, and then go to bed. I don't know what to do to save our marriage and bond. If I quit, I'd go into massive debt north of 6 figures. I can't see a way out.

Edit: We've been married for 7 months and this super busy lifestyle increased 100x about 5 months ago. When dating, I was able to flex my schedule a bit which is why she didn't feel like my schedule was hell.

TL;DR I rarely spend time with my wife due to working and she strongly believes I don't love her; there's virtually no way I can see to spend more time with her (please see above for the full story).

She's right to question it imo. Like cmon dog you can't get a single day off a week for hanging with the wife? Why did you even get married?

If my spouse was working so hard they couldn't text me for weeks on end I feel like I'd think they were lying to me, barring them being a literal astronaut or something.

I like the stealth reference to them having a baby, which makes this dude micromanaging his time not around his family / not seeing his wife and child for weeks at a time thaaaaat much more awful. Holy poo poo, dude, she has an infant and appears to be caring for it basically alone, cut some "me time" and do something nice for her, or actually take care of your baby for once

EDIT: Oh, she's just pregnant. Well, project this post a year into the future, then.

For anyone who isn't a programmer - the hours he works are almost certainly his own choice and he's deluded himself into thinking they're necessary. Even if he does work at a nightmare company like he implies, it's easy enough to interview and look for more work. It's not an uncommon delusion and is probably intentionally cultivated at his workplace but that doesn't make it real. In the comments it implies he's in six figures of debt on "rolls-royces" and houses or some nonsense, I dunno what's going on there but he wound me up really good!!!

Understanding of what though exactly? He's being a total weirdo.

If I was trying to gently caress and my spouse said "I'd love to but I can't, it is already 9:55pm and I have to be asleep in 10 minutes so I can wake up 2-3 hours early and complete my exercise routine" day in day out and also never took me out anywhere or did anything with me and left me at home pregnant alone for weeks on end without so much as a text message...

well I wouldn't have married that person in the first place but yeah I forsee cheating + divorce in their future.

She keeps different hours than him and holds that against him. He's the one who has to be at work in the morning.

I agree his priorities are all messed up, though. When the divorce happens it's going to be his fault regardless of what the actual catalyst of the divorce is.
