It's a good idea to get the laptop ASAP so you can start buying up crafting tools just in case

I'm near the end of May and about to finish Madarame, so end of July is 4th Palace maybe? 3rd?

What a world. What a strange, unexpected world. Lotus Juice has been rapping for Final Fantasy and apparently not for Persona lately. And his "Conditioned to Hate" sounds like a good name for a rap battle anthem that would have fit Akechi decently. I'm still disappointed that Akechi didn't get music of any sort of his own. That twerp villain from Ultimax got arguably three different themes, two of them pretty good. Including a rap battle anthem sung in part by Lotus Juice. Huh.

I beat Persona 5 after starting in November 2017. It was a great time and I’m glad I took my time. Now I finally get to listen to spoiler casts and read about others thoughts! Any good spoilercasts or articles on the game?

I'm sick at home right now so I played a bit today. I'm about 25% of the way through palace 6. I love the aesthetics of it. The palace song is great too although it gets a bit samey. Man is it kicking my butt though. I think I'm way underleveled. Joker was 42 at the start and Akechi joined at like 46. It is kinda fun that every fight feels as hard as a boss fight in the way that the first palace did though. Also I'm still super dependent on Matador, but he's slowly becoming obsolete I fear. Any advice on personas that are I should be making that are around level 45?

I typically look for Personas that have strong resistances, abilities that are useful, those which have the best s link boost and most importantly those that are cool. It really comes down to personal preference but make sure you have a solid mix of types to mix and match.

You can always grind for levels in Mementos, or alternately you can grind out Caroline & Justine's confidant by fusing a whole bunch of different personas, which I think you should have access to in Mementos by that point in the game (could be wrong). Their rank 10 lets you fuse really powerful personas outside of your level for a price. Personally I find the closer you get to the end, the more you should be fusing to resist/repel/nullify/drain as many attack types possible and not worry as much about offense. At least that's how I played it. If they can't touch you you can play as slow as you want... But of course the closer you get to the end the more you've developed your own play style and you should probably just stick with that but with more levels... I guess a cursory glance at a FAQ (I'll look so you don't have to spoil yourself) shows that you can get Rangda inside the Palace, and it repels both physical and gun attacks which always comes in handy. vvv: this guy knows what's up TwoPair fucked around with this message at 04:07 on May 31, 2019 |

Also remember that your Joker's stats are that of the equipped Persona, and they level much slower than he does, so even if he's in the 40's if you're relying on a level 25 Matador you're not that strong or tough. Conversely, if you fuse a Persona of your level that you have a high confidant link with, you boost above your level and are effectively a higher level. Not only that, you inherit more skills and the boost usually unlocks a bunch more instantly. Guillotine them all. If you like a particular Persona register it so you can pull it out again. Try not to recruit in the field, but pull out Personas from the compendium and mash them up to ones near your level, and try to inherit the elements / buffs / healing that you want.

Specifically, you should be able to fuse a Persona with Triple Down, One-Shot-Kill the crit-boosting skill, and the two gun-damage-boosting skills, and you should just use those skills through the end of the game because man you just clown on absolutely everything. I am also attending a convention and there's not one but two Persona meetups I'm gonna try to go to and snag some pics from

So what is the better version of P3. FES or Portable? It seems like portable is the better version overall from reading up on it, but apparently the audio quality is bad? I am a stickler for that sort of thing.

Portable is generally the prefered version but has no 3D exploration of the world (aside from the dungeons) but instead a mouse cursor thing. Not sure about audio quality but portable is, well, portable so if there is a difference I'd assume it's the one with "lesser" audio, not that I've personally noticed.

It gives you direct control of your party members, and has some improvements from later games to make combat flow better. However, FES is a much... prettier? game. The 3d world exploration really does help you feel more attached and involved in the world. The visuals and sound quality are better. And it has much better cutscenes. The Answer arc is also only included in FES, but that is a "watch on youtube, don't play" if I ever saw one.

There's a hack/cheat for FES that backports party control into it, if you want that and the 3D exploration of the overworld. Its given as a PNACH file, which I think is meant to be used with PCSX2, but I think there are ways to get it running on actual hardware? PNACH file
