Gus's only bagging into their bags, but not charging.

Only like 40% of those barrels becomes gasoline, though you'll get a whole bunch of other useful stuff with the rest. How easily can you scale down oil refining? Can people jury rig a little cracking tower like some moonshine still ?

The gas won’t be the best but it will make the car go. https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/video/2013/oct/16/illegal-oil-refinery-niger-delta-video Probably don’t wanna do it though. Making bio fuel was pretty easy too a lot of people were doing that till CA cracked down on it.

Panfilo posted:Only like 40% of those barrels becomes gasoline, though you'll get a whole bunch of other useful stuff with the rest. Yes and they do. It's a HORRIBLY destructive process as most of a refinery tech is not only for refining the product but reducing the byproduct leak out. They boil the oil to separate the gas from the heavy stuff then sift it (i'm sure its more intrictate I'm not a petroleoum engineer/cartel oil worker!)

Hell I remember in 10th grade we had a lab session where we were taught to make biofuel and our science teacher straight up encouraged us all to teach the process to our parents and tell them they could go to pretty much any restaurant with a deep fryer and take as much used oil off their hands as they wanted for a cheap gas alternative.

They are giant fractionating columns. Large vertical vessels with a bunch of levels. As the product is heated the hydrocarbons separate by volatility up the column. You draw off various products at separate levels. Light gases on the top, super heavy sludge on the bottom. A lot of California produced oil is super thick with very low API gravity.
