No, Miami. It's a CW show, not a Netflix original

Just binged Maniac. Eh. I never really cared about Emma Stone or her movies, but she is a really good actress. Basically saved the whole show. Also, Jonah Hill, mumbling through a performance doesn't make you introverted or depressed, wtf was that. Can only recommend if you play a video game on the first monitor.

I bet if you traced that back to the source data it would be something like "most disproportionately popular show in each state", which is what a lot of these maps use and is pretty useless data at the end of the day.

Both Texas and California have incredibly large Latin populations, which is probably why that show is on there.

I thought it was great, the dream episodes and the scientists were very good, and Jonah was consistently great in the dreams, especially the understated performance he gave in the "thug life" reality. I really dug it and the finale was amazing

Business is slow

They filmed some of Mindhunter S2 right around where I live in PA(They shut down main street in my town to film a short scene, and they paid the sister of a friend of mine a whole bunch of money to use her driveway in a different scene) and I am honestly wondering if that's why Mindhunter is apparently big here.

Apparently the scenes actually take PLACE in Alabama, which is pretty funny.

"understated performance" is what that poser mumbling was. constantly speaking softly to convey emotional brokenness is just cheesy and bad. yeah the japanese girl scientist looked attractive.

Super Infra Man is on Amazon Prime. It’s the Shaw Brothers take on Japanese tokusatsu, not much as a story but full of fun and colorful visuals. They had a lovely cropped version of this up before but now it’s widescreen and in pretty good quality.

It's a great show that's a both a parody of and a love letter to telenovelas, with a magical realist bent (although that's just in presentation; they're not doing anything literally magical). It's probably in top 3 of my list of "shows that are way better than you might have expected from the title" and it's not, as you might think from the name, about a girl's sex life. It has some elements of that, yeah, and there's a lot of her love life, but it's way more about growing up in a Latino family and about writing. It's entering its final fifth season in 2019, and I highly recommend it; each episode is very densely packed and it very frequently hits all the feel good notes for me.

Downsizing was super loving weird. Not a particularly good movie, but it felt like something that shouldn't even exist today and I found that kind of endearing. Like, everything about it seems like something that could have only existed in the 80's. Wacky premise that would appeal to kids but it's super R rated, advertised as a comedy but it's not at all etc...

It's just so weird in general too. Like, they go into way too much detail with the absurd premise and how it works, waste half of the movie on it, and then proceed to have no attention to detail throughout. And then it goes back and forth, between wacky, sad, apocalyptic at the drop of a hat.

I don't care if a sci-fi/fantasy/whatever post-apoc movie is "plausible", I just want to know why that guy is still (almost 30 min in) wearing his supermarket uniform vest and name tag. Take that poo poo off.

Just once in a post-apoc movie, when an idiot wants to stay in a supermarket, I want someone to say "No, idiot, this place is going to be absolutely revolting soon. I don't want to live surrounded by rot, rats and insects."

It's weird that the movie is about being blind but none of the major characters are blind. Also it seems mean to make movies about blind people?
