EDIT: In other words, people will expand their tastes and lifestyles to fit what their budget allows. Some people don't even limit themselves to what their budget allows (hello, credit!). 10K/yr or 10M/yr, that money is going somewhere. I keep watching F1 hoping for some magic, but invariably it turns into "The Great Tire Debate, this time in Monaco." I really love the things that F1 cars can do but they operate on another plane of existence, watching it on a TV can't really convey anything that's going on.

Don't get me wrong, i was in Melbourne for the F1 last weekend and the speed difference is amazing. The carrera cup cars were doing a 2 minute lap in the race and the F1 was about 30 seconds a lap faster.
