Zodijackylite posted:USBM is an abbreviation for Pitchfork writers who couldn't find poo poo to shovel in a barn, because it wasn't a current commercial interest. It's a shame the idea of American black metal came to represent garbage like Xasthur and Leviathan among the worst heap of it. There's some great stuff, from Goatlord's 80s works to Demoncy's Joined in Darkness to everything Judas Iscariot ever did (no hyperlink here, because) to th e recent works like One Master's live tape and One Master's albums and Bog of the Infidel. or being drowned in space by Aureole/Mare Cognitum. I just like layered guitars ok

Please Google Transcendental Black Metal, the manifesto of the USBM band Lithurgy. Also look for their interviews, because they're annoying fucks. Lately I see a lot of hipsters pseudo artsy types gravitating towards black metal in America. Noisey, of course, eats that poo poo up and promotes them all. Any idea why the music could be having this impact in the US?

I guess someones a bit upset the noise hasn't gone down that the new singer isnt' quite up to par to what Chance could do. Drummer from Skeletonwitch sounds off on haters. - whatever drivel this is Song in question - it's loving boring poo poo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0ZhDfcR3VY vs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEHpoo3cZzI Vintersorg fucked around with this message at 17:44 on Aug 17, 2016 |

They were pretty good live back when Chance was vocalist. Honestly though, their live show is better than the album cuts.

So I really don't keep up with new bands nearly as much as I should, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for new-ish melodic death bands that don't suck. For reference, 90% of my daily playlist consists of: (old) In Flames/Dark Tranquility/At The Gates, Kalmah, Be'lakor (new album owns super hard), Insomnium, Ensiferum (I consider them melodeath anyway), Arch Enemy, and the one good Wintersun album. Also been digging the most recent First Fragment album, which I guess isn't really melodeath but is pleasantly melodic nonetheless.

There were all sorts of rumours surrounding Megadeth's appearance at Bloodstock in 2014, including that Dave wanted all mango and salmon banned from the campsite (not backstage, the entire campsite) and that he demanded that Rotting Christ be moved to a different day to the one Megadeth were playing Also jfc imagine having Mustaine as your dad
