Anyway, I recently listened to a podcast about him and how/why exactly he was allowed to do what he did and I hope it counts for this thread. It was super upsetting for me to listen to, especially since I was recovering from a pretty routine surgery myself when it was recommended to me. I'm barely into the first episode and I feel like I want to die. Thanks! I look forward to listening to it in 5 minute chunks, or whatever the audio equivalent of watching a horror movie thru partially covered eyes is. jfc

In some cases I think it might just be people wanting to have their name go down in history but have no other opportunities. Also, lying down caused excruciating pain so my nights consisted of sitting in the sofa and trying to sleep. I was really lucky: in a period of two weeks, I had a CAT and a MRI scan, 3 visits to two different specialists (one for a second opinion) and my surgery. And I has the same reaction you had when waking up: no more pain! You can hardly see the scar anymore where they went to through my neck.
