Negative twenty years or so.

They are unlike anything the world has ever experienced. They're ruthless, shrewd, and calculating--and they've got a stranglehold on the White House. Recruited and empowered by their boss, Hillary, these are the women who tell Bill Clinton what to do. Get ready, America, for the rise of the FemiNazis!

Big Sister Is Watching You unmasks the coven of brutally correct women who now rule over us. Hillary's regiment of hardened, militant feminists include lesbians, sex perverts, child molester advocates, Christian haters, and the most doctrinaire of communists. They possess awesome Gestapo powers. One heads the FBI, another the IRS. Five are members of the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations--subversive organizations whose goal is to end American sovereignty and bring about a global Marxist paradise.

Then there's Hillary Rodham Clinton. What dark power does she exercise over her husband, Bill? What's her real goal? Is she plotting behind the scenes to become President of the United States of America? Will she then go on to usher in a frightening New Millennium?

George Orwell's prophetic novel, 1984, warned us about Big Brother. Now, in the bizarre 1990s, it's time to "Move over Big Brother...your meaner Big Sister is moving in!"

I honestly don't understand how Trump is exceeding my expectations so completely. I mean, I knew it was going to be hilarious and absolute poison for the GOP but to this extreme already? Goddam.

My only worry is that he's going to flame out before the first debate. Either way I'm using up one of my vacation days to recover from the post debate hangover.

I'm not sure about that. At first I thought this was a publicity stunt for his show or his business in general, and it might have started that way, but I think now that he's polling so well and actually catching on, and all the cameras are on him, he seems all in. And he's such an egomaniac that the more flack he takes and attention he draws, the more he's going to dig in. The only way he'll drop out now is if his poll numbers start to tank or if he comes under indictment or something.

It's glorious.

The Tea Party is the Koch Brothers' insurance policy. If any Republican even thinks about not cutting taxes, strengthening EPA regulations, or strengthening consumer protections then the Tea Party comes out of the woodwork to primary them. The Koch Brothers don't really give a poo poo about the status of the national party. They only care that it's filled with people who are going to support the 3 aims I laid out in the previous sentence.

This is pretty much why establishment Republicans don't much care for the Tea Party. They know it hurts their national brand, and they actually don't want billionaires to dictate directly what kind of legislation happens. They're okay with stuff they agree with, but they want veto power on it. They want latitude, but the Koch Brothers don't want them to have latitude. The Koch Brothers want them to do what they're told, and if they're not going to then they'll install someone who will.

The GOP used to be a party that duped religious and social conservatives into pulling the lever for them in order to gain power. Now, with the help of the Kochs, those religious and social conservatives are in the middle of ousting that old establishment wing. It's certainly poo poo from the past coming back to bite them in the rear end, but it's important not to ignore who made sure it came back.

Sanders is looking to make inroads with the newsmax/infowars crowd

quote:

Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders undermined a key Obama administration talking point Monday when he said the actual unemployment rate in the U.S. is double what the federal government claims.

“When you talk about the economy we also have to have an honest assessment of unemployment in America,” Sanders told a crowd of 7,500 gathered at a presidential campaign rally in Portland, Maine.

“Once a month the government publishes a set of figures, and the last figures they published said that official unemployment was 5.4 percent,” the Democratic nominee continued, slightly misstating the Labor Department’s most recent report which put June’s unemployment rate at 5.3 percent.

“But there is another set of government statistics,” Sanders continued, “and that that real unemployment if you include those people who have given up looking for work and the millions of others who are working part-time 20, 25 hours a week when they want to work full-time, when you all of that together, real unemployment is 10.5 percent.”

That dose of reality is like a wet blanket on President Obama’s recent claims that the economy is improving.

“This is progress,” Obama said of the most recent unemployment number in a speech last week in Minnesota. “Step by step, America is moving forward. Middle class economics works.”

While Sanders is no conservative — he is listed as an Independent and calls himself a socialist — his claim that the actual unemployment rate is far higher than advertised is something heard most often, at least during Obama’s tenure, from the right.
