Che storia figata, ragazzo!

Today in the second division quarterfinals game between Escazuceña and Sporting SJ, Sporting's starting goalkeeper went off injured and 19 year old sub had quite a game. He stopped a penalty during open play and 3 more during the shootout to help his team get to the semifinals. Sporting are a poo poo club with no history owned by notorious rear end in a top hat Jorge Alarcón so I don't want them to be promoted, but this is a great story.

So they didn't punish Chapecoense? Because if they weren't docked the points they just made it out of the group.

Hello everyone, Liga MX just started this week with Apertura starting and I completely forgot about it. Sorry about that I know I also kinda drop off with the last playoffs too but I was busy with work that kinda limited me from posting about it. I'll try to post about the first week some time this week and get ready for round two this upcoming weekend.

I think a Alajuelense - Santos final is possible, they both have what it takes although Alajuelense have been notorious chokers lately.

Santos beat Jabloteh 6-2 today, too bad their own stadium is not good enough for this competition so they had to play in a nearly empty urinal in San Jose

So Grêmio's keeper did a thing yesterday.

https://twitter.com/goleada_info/status/923367838936690688

It was pretty sick. Also barring a fuckup we're basically in the Libertadores finals, where we're gonna get trounced by River because yesterday was the ugliest 3x0 I've seen in my life.

Yeah that was a sick save.

Tonight is the return leg of the CONCACAF League (aka CCL Jr). Santos de Guápiles beat Olimpia in Tegucigalpa 1-0 last week and now they have everything in their favor to get their first international trophy. I was gonna go to the stadium but it's raining, I wanted to support them but not enough to go across town in the rain.

Santos lost on penalties, Olimpia will lose to some mexicans on the CCL next year.

Seltzer posted:

When I was younger there was a team in my hometown and I supported them, Municipal Goicoechea.

In the late 90s it was promoted to the first division and did pretty well for some years, mid table. In the early 00s the club was relegated and then relegated again and then went bankrupt. I was in their U15s for a few weeks until they kicked me out because I was a dumb lazy teenager with zero discipline.

Since then I didn't really have a team, a few years ago I regularly watched a club from a neighbor town, Uruguay de Coronado, through their second division win and their short stay in the first division.

Now I again have a local club. Here in CR it's kinda common for the lower table clubs to go bankrupt, and instead of promoting from the second division to replace the dead club, an investor can buy the rights to compete in the first division. Some dude bought the rights and started a new team, Guadalupe FC. Same stadium, same colors. So I'm following them in an exciting race to avoid relegation this season.
