It's hard to sail by on rage about "criminal immigrants" when INS has become a gestapo force grabbing people willy nilly and throwing them into special immigration prisons. Plus economic chaos and the possible loss of health insurance means some of them might drop off youtube as America and its trading partners destabilize. Sargon seems like the kind of guy who would save his money as well so he can just weather the storm when the current alt-right bubble bursts like the SJW one has. Just wait till the UK enters a recession due to leaving the EEC and Corbyn gets elected in on a minority government with the LibDems or whoever to see him truly begin the downward spiral into chaos.

Someone should probably tell him that the Honey Badgers were there in the front row apparently along with Sargon. These are two pieces of poo poo rape apologists who have proven track records of bilking thousands of dollars from their idiot fans so they can attend meetings and harass feminists and other people they disagree with. Anita wasn't being paranoid or overly sensitive to preemptively attack these shitlords. They were there to gently caress with her and she was simply one step ahead of them. Boogie seems like the epitome of liberal. I remember him defending JonTron, too. He's probably not a bad guy himself but he's way too in favor of "don't rock the boat." It's like what Contra pointed out in his free speech video, don't think we don't know what type of speech you defend. I wonder if he called out Sargon for doxxing that woman a few short months ago. Honest Thief posted:Four thousand quids a month?! Are there any statistics on how much alt-right content makes vs not alt-right? Not really, but just to put things in perspective Hbomb is as of today making 3917 per video and Contrapoints is making 3029. CarlofSad is by the way no longer at 4000 and is now at a staggering 5713 per month (per video would be way to internally consistent). Both the alt-right and progressive left on Youtube are catering to a niche audience that is rapidly growing. It is also notable that Hbomb doesn't seem to grow as quickly when doing pop culture (although +300$ a video just off the Sherlock video is impressive) while Contrapoints and Sargon are both growing extremely quickly. Sargon today has twice the Patreonbase he started out the year with and Contrapoints has in the same time period grown by over 3 times. It's also noticeable that Garbage Human's patreonbase is individually about half as willing to donate (or poorer), read into that what you will. Trump's election has kinda sent everything into overdrive.

I gotta friend who deals with content creators finance wise so I know a lil about how much they make, not any of these small fry tho.Honest Thief posted:Four thousand quids a month?! Are there any statistics on how much alt-right content makes vs not alt-right? You can check patreon. I'd say its fairly even, unless you count podcasts then the left content seems to make more. Dave Rubin makes the most of the right types, about the same as someone who makes porn games. Chapo makes a ludicrous amount on the left The problem with the youtube skeptics is there's sooooooo loving many of them and they're all trying to copy sargon, so why pay them anything when you could donate to sargon instead. He puts out the most videos too, cause he has uhh, superior research skills. Or he just straight rips content and puts it up on his secondary channel, the first of which was deleted by youtube because Destiny successfully DMCA'd it 3 times (it had like 300k subscribers too) Skeptics really need the patreon money too, even tho they get say 100k views they don't make poo poo off that anymore. The smartest skeptic is def Thunderfoot. He does two genres of content; sarkeesian videos and science videos and gets $3000 PER VIDEO. In the past week alone he has made twice sargon makes in a month EDIT: Actually i'm surprised, I hadn't checked in a while but the lefty types are catching up to sargon fast.

Dreylad posted:Also on the subject of money and youtube content, it totally is about the cash. Jordan Peterson gets paid $160,000 from his tenured position at the University of Toronto but he's still raking in more money with his Patreon to the tune of *checks* holy poo poo $50k a month??? Peterson, even though we're talking about him in the same context as these others, should really be in a another category. He was on traditional TV and radio within Canada for at least 20 years before transitioning to YouTube. It's possible that an income that high would be him cashing in on what took quite a while to build up. Others on the alt-right wouldn't have arrived on the scene with the same privledges and advantages as he has. Adding to that would be how it wasn't always obvious what his politics were -- he was presented as a neutral professional for so much of it that you had to listen really closely to get even a hint of what his true nature was underneath. Hell, even I used to like the guy, and was even saving up to buy his expensive book before he lost his drat mind for fame and profit. I'd imagine there are probably other hangers-on who either missed all the recent controversy or are avoiding the unfortunate introspection that they were wrong to trust the guy.

Youtube is the bad way of doing it these days, do streaming instead. Destiny isn't even one of the top streamers and he makes hundreds of thousands in donations a year and that doesn't include the thousands of subscribers at $5-25 a month, ad revenue and the sponsorship's he has with various companies. He makes way more than these idiot skeptics combined just playing video games. I'm using destiny as an example cause he's one of the few people open about how much he makes on twitch, god knows how much the top streamers make considering streamers 1/15 the size of destiny can do it full time.

Stealing vids from someone else's site is the express purpose of the DMCA stuff. You do things through the official channels to make sure that it gets stopped entirely, and not just for you. You don't need to act like a gentleman to the guy directly stealing your content, you use the best tool to limit him period.

Honest Thief posted:Guess it's time I quit my job and go into this youtube thing Before you do that just let me again put things into perspective. First off, most political content creators spent years slaving away to get where they are today and of the non-gamergate crowd many only really kicked off after 2016. Also, those Patreon numbers are an un-taxed business income. Now if memory serves me right Patreon does show users post-VAT contributions but that still leaves payroll tax and income tax. (replace the last two with business tax and capital gains for some of the income if you're running a private company) So Hbomb for instance, not counting youtube ad revenue (which I presume is abysmal), makes a few hundred pounds over the cost of basic standard of living in the UK. And that is after producing content for years, creating high quality content and being extremely successful comparatively speaking. Like the beauty of being a YouTube content creator is that you can go from starving to unfathomably rich within a very short period of time, if you're lucky and extremely determined. But I wouldn't really tell anyone to pursue Youtube as a career path based of that. If you're unemployed and have someone else subsidizing your living costs it's probably worth a go but otherwise there are safer alternatives for income.
