As much as I didn't buy the "Kobashi might not return" talk, it was pretty clear that Kobashi wasn't nearly as good last year as he was in 2008. Part of that was NOAH being much worse, but that in turn is revealing: Kobashi needs others to carry the workload and can only do so much with chops and yelling "ikuzo!".

Kobashi should retire. I'll never get bored of watching him wrestle but its clearly time to call it a career. Have one more big match where the end result is him looking at the lights, be okay with his health and maybe find himself a partner to marry. I'll never get bored of his tag match with Kikuchi against Krofatt/Furnas neither his match against Takayama.

It is true. My main hope is that enough of the tour will be taped that most of the good matchups get shown. I was not expecting anything from Kawada vs Yone anyway unless it went like 4 minutes. Here have some shoot-style Han vs Kohsaka, RINGS July 16th 1996 http://theditch.us/HanVsKohsaka7-16-96.avi Two wizards of shoot-style matwork going at it. All sorts of swanky counters and escapes and tricked-out holds. Ishikawa vs Ikeda, Battlarts August 4th 1996 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IHWX37FC These two are known for beating the crud out of each other. This match is no exception.

You can't say that. The guy pinned KENTA. KENTA needs a match for his return.

Kobashi & The Patriot Are Friends Yes, THAT Patriot. After Kobashi stopped teaming with Misawa, he moved on to Patriot, who had a run with AJ during the early '90s. His second stint is what set up his WWF run. After a failed tag title shot in the fall, they fared reasonably well in the Tag League tournament. Misawa & Akiyama vs Kobashi & Patriot http://www.megaupload.com/?d=84A8XWQM The first 2/3rds are good. The last 3rd is ridiculously awesome. Kobashi/Patriot started the tournament with 5 straight wins heading into this. Kobashi & Patriot vs Gary Albright & Sabu http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UAMPDYMX Because the team of Kobashi & Patriot just wasn't random enough. Sabu looks darn good in this, Albright dishes out big suplexes... this one is easy to love! Ditch fucked around with this message at 18:08 on Apr 17, 2010 |

The problem is that most of his opponents don't sell his gimmick. It worked on the ROH show because guys like Ryo Saito went all-in to put it over, but the NOAH guys aren't really doing that.

I've watched his match with Liger last year, and the crowd seemed into him and popped for a few of his moves. I'm pretty sure he even tried eating Liger's mask at one point. They also made some noise when he almost ran off with an audience member's backpack.

HUSTLE WILL LIVE FOREVER! ...And starts in 10 days?! quote:
quote:Kantoku Nakamura is the new top villain in the relaunch of HUSTLE. Nakamura, who is an official of ZERO1, once appeared in HUSTLE before in a non-wrestling role. He appeared today in front of the media, wearing a 10 Gallon Cowboy Hat and Sunglasses said that Sakata himself can't help HUSTLE survive. He also said that Sakata isn't qualified to run a Company and President Noburo Yamaguchi made the wrong decision by putting Sakata in charge. quote:

Also:quote:One note about one of HUSTLE's shining stars. The rumour going around is that the one and only HG is planning to have his retirement match against Danshoku Dino on DDT's Sumo Hall show. Dino is apparently furious that his fellow gay wrestler is retiring. Rumor has it upon hearing the news of HG's retirement, Dino locked himself in the DDT Office for 13 days.
