I feel like DeNA is using global foresight against us: They've seen that Edge's SSB can still be huge for endgame content, so they've pretty much removed all opportunities for global to get it (crystal tower selects, this banner, dungeon update and crystal tower draws, etc.). The daily draw or an off banner is your only opportunity now, right?

For Ramza's Battle Cry BSB, am I right in guessing the commands won't proc his dbl Knight LMR? They seem to be coded as Support abilities if I'm reading correctly.

Anytime. Even without anything Bartz is a solid dive from doublecasting spellblade's great element coverage, and relics just make him better.

The 3rd anni banner isn't popular at all with vets because it's full of dupes but if we have some new players it's worth a consideration. Zack's chain is top notch, Orlando's ultra is insane, Cloud's ultra is foundation you build cloudtron on and Orlando's OSB is still fine. The burst selection is excellent and will save you from honing abilities for quite a while. The rest of the stuff is great too except Noctis' LMR and SSB which are just not worth using. The stray Onion Cape is odd but it's magical once you get blessed by OnionGod discos.

There's a reason it's a dupefield for us.

As a returning player way behind who just got Orlandu’s USB, should I be doing something special with him? I just gave him level two earth and assault sabre and am letting him go to town.

Yup, I specifically intend to wait on Banner news for the Tactics banner before I pull on any of the Type-0 stuff for pretty much that reason. Helps that they are adjacent events so Type-0 will still be open when we've got those details.

In later-game content you'll probably want to stick to one element per fight, but no, that's pretty much Orlandeau USB dot txt. Slap down two Sabre skills (or Dread Weapon if you're running Darkness), pop the USB, and watch enemies melt. Try to have them honed as high as possible since thirstycast burns through your uses and Florida Man doesn't exactly have great BSB/enelement options. Two stacks of R3 should be more than enough for 90% of the game's content, two stacks of R4 will generally take you through all but 5* magicite/Cu Chulainn with no problems.

Yeah I honed rear end saber to r3 for 3* magicite, haven't opened up holy/dark 4*s yet, but iirc I still have 4 uses left in 3* when it goes down.

This is pretty much it, but you want to hone the abilities as much as possible since the double-cast uses two charges. Also hone some Darkness abilities. I like Dread Weapon because it heals him instead of damaging him, and it turns out that alive characters do more damage than dead ones. You can also use Mark of Darkness if the enemy doesn't have a weakness - it's only a three-hit ability, but double-casting the Imperil Dark can be pretty effective at breaking down defenses and helping everyone build up SB gauge.

Also, do his full Legend Dive, if you haven't already.

How do dual element attacks work wrt resistances? Say, an USB that us wind and dark against enemies that resist one and are weak to the other?

Multi-element attacks always pick the option that will do the most damage.

Depending on your equipment and other factors, an element the enemy resists may end up doing more damage than one they're very slightly weak to or neutral to, which is something to keep in mind with regards to gaining SB gauge, since you only get the bonus SB gauge for actually hitting a weakness.

4*s come from some 240/280 event dungeons (I think it's only one of those 2, maybe 240s), raid dungeons and the mote dungeons which are available from the main screen between nightmare/magicite and torment.

You get an influx of them with the fest every three months, which is why most of us who have been around a while have enough to forget where they come from.
Mote Dungeon: cycles every few days. 6 motes for completion (once), 50 for mastery (once), 4 for a speed clear (repeatable). Not much once cleared, but your repeatable supply.
Event dungeons: 260 difficulty gives 20 each of three different types
Raid Dungeons: 160/220 give a pile of them (20 for 160, 80 for 220, split between two types)

We're also getting 20 of each on the 31st as a Halloween treat.

I feel like I'm VERY far of from being able to clear 260 anything, but I could maybe squeak by some 160s if the conditions are right.

A lot of 160s are probably solidly within the realm of "can be cheesed with the right RW" at this point, provided that the raw numbers on your dudes are big enough.

Im more or less in the same boat, I need 4* motes but I usually can't clear the content that's got them. I can clear 180s 7/10 times probably, everything above smokes me. I've eeked out 2 of the mote dungeons with expert ranking cause my fire and earth teams are stronger than the others, but it was close anyway.

What are people's guidelines for vaulting stuff? Last time I was near full inventory I took my highest ATK and MAG stats and vaulted anything that was 2/3 of that or less. I feel like that wasn't enough.

Any suggestions?

Finding things in the vault isn't much of a hindrance now that we have the full array of sort options, so I'd say you might as well chuck everything in there that you don't regularly use, e.g. not +element, not 6*, not your best healer gear. When you're making a specialist team later and you need to find all your FF9 gear or your silence resist armour, it's not a problem to find it in the vault.

My usual mindset is to vault all but the top four or five weapons/armors of each realm, with exception of keeping around anything that has off-synergy +element, and start vaulting resistance accessories once you get more than 5. You don't need more than necessary to field a single team, so.

I sit at 500/500 and when I get something I need to keep in my inventory I chuck a random accessory in the vault. This seems... suboptimal.

I really need to clean out accessories. Does everyone just keep 5 of each resistance type? So many of my clears are by the skin of my teeth that I wonder if the +15 to various stats actually makes that tiny difference.

There's some low-hanging fruit though: I apparently have 9 of Hope's Scarf. Apparently DeNA needs to get more creative with their accessories (or Hope does).

edit: Case in point: Kain with a +15 DEF water resist accessory survives an attack he wouldn't (or maybe 1 in 10 times) with a +15 ATK one. And that's why I'm a hoarder.

This is what I'm leaning towards. Keep +element and 6+* and vault everything else. Synergy is basically irrelevant to me at this point so I don't really care about that.
