It's really kind of schizophrenic that the game is both so deathly afraid that you'll miss a single loving sidequest by turning it down, yet also encourages savescumming out the rear end.

Judge Tesla posted:If anyone's wondering how to unlock companion quests, just do things they approve of, for Cait as an example, drink booze, pick locks and be a sarcastic rear end in a top hat to everyone in conversation and she'll eventually open up and give you a quest. You can walk away from a conversation and start it up later without issues.

It's not like Call of Juarez or anything where you're on a hinge, if anything it really just seems to have been implemented so that random objects don't block your shot.

how do i create multiple entities of power armor? I have one unit that just chills in a station but I have enough to make another suit or so. is there a way to have a full set of raider power armor chilling beside my other set?

As bad as the dialogue in this can be at times, I like a lot of the reactive commentary your companions have to things going on around them, like Valentine's reaction to the Mysterious Stranger when he shows up. Does every companion have a unique piece of dialogue for those occasions or is something that only certain companions will have here and there?

Auto lean annoys me because while it does work most of the time, I'd rather have that control in my own hands. Plus being able to lean yourself means you can do dumb little lean dances.

Valentine actually has a whole case file on the Mysterious Stranger in his house, it's kind of cute even though "characters in the game recognise gameplay elements!" is pretty overdone.

Holy gently caress the Saugus Ironworks is a total bitch. I tried it at around level 10, immediately got roasted by a flamethrower man, decided to leave it for later. Went back around level 16 and didn't fare much better. I'm guessing they wanted to gate these minuteman quests a little.

Yeah, I was very confused when I found a "Short Assault Rifle" and it ended up being semi-auto. I don't think Bethesda knows what "assault rifle" means. If the regular guys with flamers are killing you, save that quest for much later. You fight a boss in power armor and a flamer guy in a tiny room at the end.

I've been looking for a semi-auto battle rifle in this game and it seems like the combat rifle is the closest thing to a decent one. It makes a really piddly gun sound though. Does the sound change when you mod it to fire .308? Or am I stuck firing this gun that sounds like an SMG? Any other good battle rifle candidates?

Rad storms made it kinda impossible to keep that mechanic. You'd just see it gather and then wait for it to pass. It was also really broken in the other 3D Fallout in how you could essentially reset faction reputations by leaving through a loading zone and wait 3 days on the spot. Meanwhile in Fallout 1/2, you'd try that, you'd "wake up" getting shotgunned at point blank. *waits for misterbibs making another retarded comment about how Fallout 3 was better because it allowed that*
