Sage evolving into John Cena would be a good end game scenario for Dana. But who is the UFC equivalent of Nikki Bella?

If he does keeps the Eugene gimmick and music as he comes down to the ring before getting bombs dropped on him by whichever unranked LHW fighter in front of a hushed and discomforted crowd that would be funny enough to make up for all the inherent humor of the CM Punk thing being dried out. Failing that, a good rear end whooping would be a first step towards penance for the Eugene gimmick. EDIT Step two would be a further rear end whooping and so forth. I don't think it was me that said this, but I worked at an HMV that sold a shitload of DVD's in the mid 2000's and had pretty much the exact same experience.

Just let me roll, bro. I love the punch at 1:11. It's framed as such that it looks like the fighter is punching a dying turkey. You can almost see his thought process before and after. "Oh gently caress I'm about to punch a grounded man with no arms and legs." *POP* "Oh gently caress I just punched a grounded man with no arms and legs." How did the guy with no arms or legs ever think he could do anything? Tire him out and then swamp him with stubs? I'm not trying to be insensitive, I just have no idea how the logistics of this is supposed to work. Chromatic fucked around with this message at 12:42 on Apr 18, 2016 |

Okay but you can still punch from your back in mma. A couple of decent shots would probably completely disrupt any wrestling/grappling he was trying to do. It's not like he could block them very well. Edit: Oh, that's where I recognized Kyle from. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b97oP708_pI&t=78s

FullLeatherJacket posted:Well, there was the time WWE tried to haze a bunch of rookies on television by putting them in shoot grappling matches with Kurt Angle (who has a legit Olympic gold in freestyle wrestling). Unfortunately, what they don't teach you in freestyle wrestling is how to defend a kimura, and one of the young guys was a trained MMA guy (which WWE knew and promoted up front before deciding that this would be a good idea). Fortunately for Angle, the ref counted a very quick pin count to get him out of there, because god only knows that you're going to get a Gracie to tap before he does, and WWE were about ten seconds away from having one of their top guys on the shelf for three months because you thought it'd be super funny to do a stupid segment that nobody watched or cared about. Puder wanted that fight. He tanked the challenges they set up for them earlier as he had an idea what was coming (that WWE wanted to tire them out before they got to Angle.) It doesn't excuse the petty bullshit in the Rumble but he definitely wanted to get in there with Angle. Luigi Thirty posted:It was also nearly a financial disaster for Vince Sr., who promoted it in New York with a closed-circuit broadcast in Shea Stadium. Problem was nobody in America knew who Inoki was so tickets weren't selling like he thought. Everyone went to see the André the Giant match that he put on as the semi-main. What saved it was Bruno agreeing to wrestle Hansen while recovering from a broken neck. MassRafTer fucked around with this message at 04:31 on Apr 19, 2016 |

Puder's situation is interesting to me because it seems like Vince could have gone either way and saw the kid as exactly the kind of ruthless cut-throat who will do anything to be a big star and make money that he seems to want when he whines that the Millennials aren't grabbing the Brass Ring. Instead he just saw a punk going into business for himself who needed to be broken for it. I mean, the story goes that when he had to fire Daniel Bryan he was impressed because Bryan just said that was great because it would make him a ton of money on the Indy circuit exploiting that he was too hardcore for WWE. It seems at least somewhat similar in terms of mindset.
