Son of a bitch. I had a PPI set up for the Red 993 for tomorrow, and the seller e-mails me to tell me that he just accepted a deposit to buy the car without the PPI.

I'm looking at a few Arena Red 993s and maybe an Aventurine green one. I think that's what I'm shooting for, especially since a 993 was my dream car at 12.

Got a line on an affordable-ish 2011 GT3 RS with an annoying DME report: Stage 1: 435 at 289 hours Stage 2: 95 at 285 hours Stage 3: 21 at 285 hours Stage 4: 6 at 285 hours Stage 5: 0 Stage 6: 0 Currently 562 hours on the engine. Seller makes the argument that if the engine hasn't blown up in the 270+ hours since the over-rev event, it is unlikely to do so because of this. Haven't done a PPI yet, but would this be an automatic disqualifier?

That was babby's first (possibly only) track day. E: just to make sure you know, the total combined time of range 2-4 events is well under one second. I didn't bother looking up the ranges to do the math.....it's that far under. As I recall, range 3 on that car should be like 360 ignitions per second. Bajaha posted:As they say, nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche. That thing isn't really all that cheap. Certainly not for that level of damage. It needs $6k in engine work and brakes alone. Potentially more. Then it needs an unknown amount of bodywork and a $4k respray. So by the time you're done you've spent at least $25k on a car that's gonna be worth $20k on a good day due to the body damage, and will never be truly right again. And could have just spent $25k or less on any number of other 35-50k mile C4s that haven't been hit, repsrayed and left to leak all over the place.
