Yeah, those guys can gently caress right off. The most interesting thing about them is the lorebook mentioning that the Lalafell wants to smash Arbert.

The lore book went so far as to say she felt their burden the most, but it didn't really satisfy that particular bit of assholery.

The Warriors of Darkness plot really seemed like it got cut down a lot. I would've liked to see more of them. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up revisiting them and Minfillia at some point later on though.

Best part of the WoD story was the reveal that Urianger is actually sexy.

Based on a video I found from 2.0, it looks like a normal single player duty with nothing special. Is she attacking the mob some herself, or is she just healing NPCs?

It just requires foresight, learning boss patterns and damage types. It's not the best cooldown, but it's another one you can definitely use if you know what's coming. Like I said, up to almost a minute for a window of opportunity is incredibly generous and definitely the strength of it.

It should also line up with the final Light of Judgment of Kefka.

Yep, but you're probably going to end up with way more Anemos Crystals than you'll need before that point, assuming you're only interested in getting one or two sets. Set aside what you want and break down the rest if that's the case.

Protean Crystal rewards are erratic and range from loving terrible to pretty ok. There's zero consistency with the rewards from what I've seen and you're better off just riding the NM train.

Like to give you an idea, I farmed Wraiths maybe 4 times so far to spawn Pazuzu. I had runs where as the only group and successfully chaining wraiths I'd get maybe a protean crystal or two every 4 or 5 kills. I had another instance where it was 2 groups just crushing the poo poo out of them and I'd get anywhere from 10 to 16 Protean Crystals a kill. And another instance with 2 groups where I only got maybe 4 total shards the entire farm to spawn him. It makes no loving sense.

The only pattern I can see so far is that fresh instances consistently give you more crystals, and give them to you more often. So I'm expecting there to be some hilarious gently caress up on SE's end why the Protean awards are hosed.

Credit on mobs between multiple groups has always been hosed in this game but its never come up because grinding was usually part of a FATE and you only cared about FATE credit.

If you are the only group there you will get protean crystals at a consistent rate but its still much less than even the level 1 NM.

Yeah except this isn't true at all. The highest rewarding wraith farm I've done was with 2 8 man groups focusing down wraiths together and not splitting them. That's when I got the 12-16 crystals a kill. Being the only group doesn't guarantee poo poo. Like my gut tells me that the rewards are scaling off the amount of players in the instance, just like the NM boss HP. Because that 2 man group was in a 30 man fresh instance

I got into a chain exp party that would only go after nearby NMs and hoo boy. We had a level 9 player, we would get about 70 xp a kill killing something at 11, and we were all level 7/8. The player randomly dropped and suddenly I was getting 130xp a kill. Then we got into a full party and started killing level 12 monsters and was right back to getting less then 100 xp a kill. The xp scaling is loving bonkers and I truly pity late comers.

Also upon getting our 30th chain kill of these level 12 monsters in a party of level 7-8 players we got a whole 174 xp for it. Out of like 56k for a level. Killing monsters at a higher level then us. Did SE bring in someone from Nexon to loving balance the xp gains?

At goons' recommendation, I did the whole Crystal Tower storyline tonight for my first time. Pretty neat, and not having a clue what any of the boss mechanics were I'm kinda proud that I only died to one boss throughout all three wings (the five-headed dragon in World of Darkness). I liked the story, too, the Allagans seem to be responsible for pretty much everything wrong with the world so it was nice seeing a more sympathetic side to them.

I'm slowly slowly making my way to the end of 2.0 content but meanwhile, holy poo poo Stone Vigil seems like a huge jump in difficulty in terms of how much it punishes mistakes. Got bodied a few times before making it through, but it gave me a sense of satisfaction I haven't really felt from the other dungeons so far. And a sense that I badly need to practice my rotation. Does anyone else remember where things got hard for them as newbie sproutlets?

As a still relative newbie (nearing the end of 3.x), I agree absolutely that Stone Vigil felt like a substantial step up in difficulty, where mistakes get lethal. Cutter's Cry also felt like a distinct step up, the final boss has simple but punishing mechanics where if you aren't paying attention you die.

Dzemael Darkhold is also rough, but only through the first boss. If you can get through the first boss, the rest is a cakewalk.

Meanwhile, Sunken Temple of Qarn still murders pubbies when it pops up in roulettes.

There are two big "traditional" leveling difficulty jumps - brayflox and stone vigil. Then you may be surprised by the 51-59 and 61-69 leveling dungeons after doing the level 50s and level 60s.

I've been doing more LLDRs lately than usual and it also seems that SV and CC are when newbie's gear seems to fall behind as well, or maybe it's just more obvious that it has. When half your party is wearing normal quality level 20-25 gear in a level 39 instance things are a lot more difficult, and I'm not even just talking about going fast.

The Vault is almost entirely on your healer how difficult it is. You'll still get at least 1 death on the first boss of Gubal and people always gently caress up the adds on the last but it's a lot easier for a half decent player or two to drag the group through Gubal than to drag a bad healer through The Vault.

This is 100% untrue. A shitbird tank who hasn't kept up with his gear can make this place hell on the healer, and no amount of good healing is going to make people not breaking tethers on the last boss a complete shitstorm which is where 99% of the wipes in this place come from.

I'd argue this is one of the first dungeons where if you don't do the mechanics correctly on the boss, specifically the last one, you are gonna die.

Sorry for posting this, since I usually don't feel the need to cry to others, but I really need somebody to talk to. This is my first season ever getting into The Feast since I wanted to give grinding for the new mount a try, but learned players there were much more cruel than the stories I've been hearing.

I've been queuing up as healer for feast, studying videos and reading up on guides as much as I can, but I still can't perform with the top tier players. Okay, that happens, practice makes perfect. Just earlier today though, I was matched with 7 high ranking players, and couldn't keep up with the healing even when bursting out all of my cooldowns. Suddenly, my entire team stopped doing anything, THEN the other team stopped doing anything, and decided all to gather around me, mark me with "ignore 1", and laugh at me while spamming "Good job!". All seven players did this, for the remaining 4 minutes of the match. I know players tend to disconnect or generally throw matches to get out faster, but never in my life have I been treated as such absolute garbage. It was like something only the most paranoid person could think up. I spent the rest of my day crying to myself and feeling like a worthless piece of trash, even going to bed early just to make the day end. What makes all of this worse is knowing one of the people involved was a streamer, so I know they were putting on a show for their fans.

Nobody deserves to be treated this way. I can't bring myself to even attempt The Feast anymore in fear of getting these people again and just having this all repeat once more.

Yep, lots of failure points.

1) DDs/tanks can take a lot of unnecessary damage if they don't move intelligently
2) Folks can spread vuln portals on the 2nd boss too much leaving nowhere to go
3) DPS being too low can lead to wipes b/c the healer's drained dry\

And that's not including the absolute braindead things like sitting and accumulating vuln stacks without care. A good healer's important in The Vault but everyone can make a difference.

Yeah, that's easier said than done to just give it another shot. I did an hour later and got most of the same people, so I just left the match asap to avoid this happening again. I'll wait til these people at least finish up on the leaderboards before I queue up again.

I guess being ganged up on by 7 people and humiliated for 4 minutes straight is just normal for The Feast and I should learn to just accept being bullied, it builds character!

If you guys didn't treat learning healers as garbage, maybe they'd keep queuing.

If you stop queuing, then they can keep win trading, lock in their position on the leaderboards and then they will never queue again, killing ranked feast stone dead and guaranteeing they get the rewards. It's incredibly lovely and SE do nothing to stop it at all. The same poo poo happens in the unranked matches too to a lesser extent so I've given up on the Feast after grinding the Garo mounts.

Yeah. Playing through it the first time as a scholar was HELL between the near hidden AOE's *why orange on sunset colored tiles* and people just not dodging I just couldn't keep the healing up..... and then going through as a tank later.... Tanking was easy. Watching a Samurai not attack the fire balls and running after the black mage while they were tethered made me want to pull my hair out. (I quote 'I thought he was healing me.' Yes. The black mage totally is attempting to heal your whiny rear end with a fire chain connecting the two of you.) The only way we got through that was convincing him to help on the fireballs and then leaving him did so our healer could keep the black mage and me up to beat the boss. The Vault is a hell of other people, one person being bad at the fights can mean the whole party is screwed. Something that normally isn't true of dungeon bosses in comparison to raid bosses. Hell there are a lot of dungeon bosses where I've seen Tanks win the fights solo (Especially drk knights. One ran into the boss my first time through anti-tower as a healer and started the fight while I was in the cutscene causing the other two party members to wait outside not wanting to do a boss without the healer. The dark knight proceeded to do that alone while we cheered from the sidelines.)
