Do you have to roll an account and log in to post full res images on imgur now? Could still upload without an account but all the links were to tiny versions.

If you copy the raw URL you get the original resolution - right-click, copy image address in Chrome. I'm seeing your image as 4032*3024, which I assume is what you intended. imgur has 7-character unique URLs for their images, but at the end you might see an 8th character that's a lower case s, a lower case m or a lower case L, which get you small, medium and large thumbnails respectively. I won't dispute for a second that imgur sucks worse and worse every time I go to use it but as long as you know the shortcuts I think it's fine for a simple image host. If there's a new way to manipulate the url then I'd be keen to learn it, but it looks to me like you need to register now.

I guess imgur ran out of venture capital so now they need to cut costs and bring in more advertising and marketable personal data.

Registering is pretty easy, you don't even have to give a real email address to click a confirm link, so I guess I'll keep using them unless someone points me towards a better alternative. I do sometimes marvel at how easy it is to host video, audio and images for free now compared to even 15 years ago, so I'm not too salty about having to make an account. When I first saw youtube I was certain it was doomed. Shows what I know.

Collateral Damage posted:I guess imgur ran out of venture capital so now they need to cut costs and bring in more advertising and marketable personal data. When they first started they had a "pro account" that you paid for, and its bread and butter was hosting images for reddit threads. I think they dumped it when the VC money started rolling in, but now that Reddit is selfhosting images, imgur's traffic took a massive hit. The shitlords in the comments don't help matters either.

Which was hilarious earlier in the season when Harvick ended up getting busted for having a cheaty car by virtue of a lack of rear window stiffness. The middle of the window would deflect downwards, lowering the roof ever so slightly, reducing drag. No one seemed to notice until he rattled off a few wins and someone caught it on TV.

Deteriorata posted:https://jalopnik.com/how-the-best-racing-cheat-of-all-time-worked-1792828060 Oh yeah, the granddaddy of them all. This one always comes up when we talk about the best motorsport cheats. It wasn't when it was under load though, just when it was attached and the hose clamp was tightened up did the throttle trumpet move forward and expose the other airway. So while the scrutineer was undoing it to inspect it, it would wind back in and appear to be perfectly compliant. One of my favourite ones was in the early 90s, Ford Motorsport in Australia were racing a factory Falcon in the V8 Supercar series. These cars were supposed to have all the same steel body panels as the road-going versions. The Falcon had a little sign on the boot lid saying "Do Not Push", because it you did, it would expose the fact that the panel was made of what basically amounted to alfoil as opposed to actual metal.

Kinda surprised his teammates weren't doing it too, both of the guys he's worked for were from the tail end of the generation that knew Smokey Yunick. I guess he just got caught on the test run before it was implemented for the whole team? But yeah, half the rules in NASCAR are for safety and the other half are "things Smokey Yunick is no longer allowed to do." "1. No dying, 2.
