The 'my dog sorrow' thing was past when I had any ties. Maybe a new hookup had a dog? Sitka is still ok, although she's ancient. 12 or 13 which for a Malamute is amazing.

And with regards to 'you know we're independent ' thing, heh - a good portion of GSOL management was convincing people to do stuff, without demanding it. Esprit de corps etc. There was a long period where almost none of the Illuminati actually played Eve in any fashion that involved undocking outside of major battles. That's why various people got threatened by the squads and sigs, they could not understand the psychology of ...fun with friends.
