It's weird that this isn't satire because it works perfectly (well, okay, minus the obviously sincere racism) as a parody of what conservatives think the left is like. Also "I'm just trying to help you guys so this place doesn't smell like roasted sour cream anymore" is legitimately funny.

Ah yes, just like gay couples have been demanding gay cakes from straight wedding bakeries. You know, the ones that cleverly work "no fags" into the store name. If these people are so committed to their beliefs and apparently not afraid of showing it, why did they get mad at the Oklahoma lawmaker who proposed businesses refusing service be forced to announce that decision in store window signs? It would honestly be worth letting one of these bullshit discrimination laws pass and take effect for a few months if the people interested in it had to out themselves.

Muslims will gladly serve him halaal food, and I'm pretty sure the gays would probably be okay with:

Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

since I'm sure gay people are on board with not imitating hetero sex in the bedroom from the, uh, scholarly articles I have seen concerning this matter.

Wow, like 10-15 verses prior to 18:22 are all about forbidding people from sleeping with close relations, wife's sister, brother's wife, father's wife, actual sister, son's daughter, etc.

Guess we know what was a much bigger problem in biblical times. "Listen up, you can't have sex with the following 20 categories of close relations. Also, don't bang the same gender or animals. Hope that covers everything"

A Muslim deli that did not stock kosher food would not be required to sell it. If they did stock it, and had a "No Christians" sign though, that would be illegal!

So...just stop selling wedding cakes if you don't want to sell wedding cakes?

Right Wing "news" site Life Site News is on verge of closing it seems

quote:

I don’t like having to do this, but we have always found it best to be totally upfront with our readers: our Spring fundraising campaign is now worrying us!

You see, with just 6 days remaining, we have only raised 30% of our goal, with $125,000 still left to raise. That is a long ways to go yet.

We have no choice but to reach our minimum goal of $175,000 if we are going to be able to continue serving the 5+ million readers who rely on us every month for investigative and groundbreaking news reports on life, faith and family issues.

Every year, LifeSite readership continues to grow by leaps and bounds. This year, we are again experiencing record-breaking interest, with over 6 million people visiting our website last month alone!

This unprecedented growth in turn creates its own demand for increased staff and resources, as we struggle to serve these millions of new readers.

And especially keep this in mind. As many more people read LifeSite, our mission of bringing about cultural change gets boosted. Our ultimate goal has always been to educate and activate the public to take well-informed, needed actions.

Another upside to our huge growth in readers is that it should be that much easier to reach our goal. To put it simply: if each person who read this one email donated whatever they could (even just $10) we would easily surpass our goal!

Today, I hope you will join the many heroes who keep this ship afloat, and enable us to proclaim the truth through our reporting to tens of millions of people every year!

Your donations to LifeSite cause major things to happen! We see that every day and it is very exciting. Please join with us in making a cultural impact with a donation of ANY AMOUNT right now.

You can also donate by phone or mail. We would love to hear from you!

Not exactly the same, mixing meat and milk for instance is halal but not kosher. Some animals, camels for instance, are halal but not kosher and some, but not all, maddhabs permit the eating of shellfish. The method of slaughter is more or less the same though and as long as you know what the few differences are it's a lot easier to keep kosher in a Muslim kitchen, or halal in a Jewish kitchen, than it is in a Christian or non-Abrahamic one.

MY OPINION IS SEERS OF THE THRONE PROPAGANDA IGNORE MY GNOSIS-IMPAIRED RAMBLINGS
So apparently a ton of media outlets are reporting that two men dressed in drag just tried to crash the gate at Fort Meade. There are reports of someone on the base possibly having been injured, and one of the people in the car is almost certainly dead.

What are the odds this ends up in the conservative media circuit as a rant or justification to gently caress with people who are trans?

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/fort-meade-incident-2-injured-at-gate-of-army-installation/ posted:

FORT MEADE, Md. -- One person was killed in a firefight that erupted Monday after a car with two people tried to ram a gate at the Fort Meade, Md., military base near a gate to the National Security Agency, according to preliminary reports cited by two U.S. officials.

The officials said a firefight ensued after the car tried to crash the gate, and at least one of the two people in the car died. Fort Meade is home of the NSA.

Both federal officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss an ongoing incident on the record.

A U.S. law enforcement official told CBS News that officials believe the two people who rammed the gate were men dressed as women.

A federal law enforcement official told CBS News that cocaine and a weapon were found in or near the vehicle.

One of the suspects who was shot in the incident was identified as Kevin Fleming of Baltimore, U.S. law enforcement sources told CBS News. Fleming, who was hospitalized, has a lengthy criminal record including for assault.

There is no indication that the incident was terrorism related, the FBI said in a statement.

"We are investigating with NSA Police and other law enforcement agencies. Our Evidence Response Team is processing the crime scene, and FBI Agents are doing joint interviews with witnesses. We are working with the US Attorney's Office in Maryland to determine if federal charges are warranted," said FBI officials in a written statement.

The NSA headquarters is on the sprawling Army installation near Baltimore. An NSA spokesperson declined to comment.

CBS affiliate WUSA-TV showed two damaged vehicles near a gate and emergency workers loading an injured uniformed man into an ambulance. Aerial news images showed that one of the damaged vehicles was a white SUV marked "NSA Police." Its front end was crumpled, and the hood was up. The other was a dark, unmarked SUV.

A building on the NSA campus was damaged by gunfire earlier this month. Authorities captured a man March 3 who they believe fired that night on the NSA site, as well as earlier at several nearby places and two moving vehicles. The suspect in that case, Hong Young, told police he heard voices directing him to fire on one of the occupied vehicles.

The gate that serves as the NSA entrance is just off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, a scenic commuter route. In addition to the NSA, Fort Meade is home to the Defense Information Systems Agency and the U.S. Cyber Command. About 11,000 military personnel and about 29,000 civilian employees work on the property.

Not yet, because these RFRA's that are being passed right now are significantly different from previously passed ones, as they put wording in place to protect companies and businesses religious beliefs versus the previous RFRAs which only protected yourself and your church associated activities.

I would guess not since Indiana's is the first one that would seemingly permit discrimination that's passed, and I'd imagine business owners there are laying low until the hubbub dies down before they actually start acting on it.

Do we have any idea what level of usage this 'protection' against discrimination lawsuits is likely to result in?

I would like to think the amount of people sufficiently fanatical to give up business to use it would be quite low, but perhaps my faith in human nature, or at least $ over bigotry is too high.

Kosher food is more stringent (mostly, other than cookin' with booze), so it would probably be a little bit of a pain in the rear end if they were required to serve to mega-Orthodox specifications. Lots of Muslims shop(ped) at kosher providers, though. It's a good way to get halal-compliant food if you're in a place without enough Muslim grocers / megacorp-supplied halal meat.
