If there was ever a more overrated movie made, I haven't seen it. I've tried to watch this start-to-finish countless times, and I just can't do it. The acting and dialogue is so contrived, it's downright irritating to watch. And don't think that I don't "get" how it's supposed to be a parody of itself. I get it. It's just executed poorly. Without fail, about half way in to the movie, I ask myself "why am I supposed to care about any of this?" and fail to uncover an appropriate answer. When I've watched the second half, in desperate hope of seeing the genius and brilliance that I've been "missing", I've found myself flaccid, for lack of a better term. Is it nice visually? Sure. Nothing at all groundbreaking, though. And after a while, it all falls in to Quentin's usual bag of cliches.
