If that match is better than Dragon/KENTA or Dragon/Nigel, that is one loving fantastic match. So Ditch are you starting to feel bipolar with Puro? One week it is "PURO IS DYING" next week "BUT MORISHIMA MAY SAVE IT HE IS THAT SEXY" next "PURO IS DYING" then "JUNIORS MAY SAVE IT" then "gently caress JUNIORS SUCK AT DRAWING." Obviously it has to do with the changing situation, but that sure has to be a lot of fun to be torn from one emotion to the another weekly.

I love Marufuji, but this won't be the last chance to make him a star. Misawa is broken down right now, if they waited much longer for his final title run it'd be a complete embarassment. Right now he can at least help pick up the gates as they wait for Kobashi to come back and transition the belt onto Morishima next year. If they want Marufuji to be a big star in the company, there will be more chances in the future.

Would this even be the ONE LAST Kobashi run this time? It seems like coming back from his time off, even if it was spent with cancer it is still less wear and tear on him. Add to that the fact he was having a darn good run before cancer seems to indicate he could have a real run with a belt before having a nostalgia trip a bit more down the road.

RheinholdMessner posted:From my limited understanding of Japanese language and culture, I've been able to piece together this as the beginning and motivation for their feud: Dude this is Japan. The feud is based on the fact that Misawa is trying to prevent Kawada from getting all the jewel shards so that Misawa can then assemble all the Dragon Ballz. To stop that Kawada turned Misawa into a little kid who had to solve crimes or some poo poo, which is why he was Tiger Mask for awhile to cover up the fact he was only 8. Then there's some tentacles and incest and you have the recipe for pretty much any AJPW feud.

In an unaired clip Jolly Old Misawa Claus brings a present to Marufuji. He opens it to find the GHC title, to which Misawa yells out "PSYCH!" elbows him and then uses his Santa powers to banish Nao to the midcard. It's not possible at all since belts are the intellectual property of the company that owns them and if TNA did that ROH would put them out of business with the following lawsuit. Add in the fact that NOAH would never hook up with TNA since they want to send their talent to the US to develop and look like international stars. TNA has shown it will never push international stars so NOAH has no reason to ever work with them. No one in NOAH needs experience in working 3 minute matches anyway.

So what exactly as changed in Japan that makes a junior holding the top belt so difficult? Fujinami was the man in NJPW for so long and started out as a junior and was around that weight for most of his big run. Obviously there's a 40 lb difference between him and Marufuji, but Liger is 210 and has never had any major drawing power at the top of the card either. Is Fujinami just an exception due to the fact he's Fujinami? Or is he just at that line where it becomes acceptable for a guy to hold the heavyweight belt and be a draw?
