I made a thread for this but it went largely unnoticed and received no response.

I recently put out my fourth release which is available on my bandcamp for free. It covers different styles of electronica. 10 tracks (bonus track in the download), 45 minutes total.

On the cusp of something good....
This is Hip Hop Core. They were a French site that released a lot of the stuff that showed the love affair between underground LA Hip Hop and European Glitch artists:

http://www.hiphopcore.net/audio/

This site was instrumental in getting me to stop just listening to Definitive Jux and all the really surface level underground rap and dig deeper into international music. They host Thavius Beck's Give Us Free which is one of those discs I just keep coming back to because in 2013 there is a whole lot of Trap music around, and Thavius was doing that sort of vibe while keeping it somewhat cerebral a long time before the craze. I have listened to just about everything they've got hosted and it's hard not to just recommend everything.

Here's my new album. It's a genre hopper, but doesn't stray far from my usual Neo-Psych and Prog-Pop formula. I've been playing a lot of Earthbound and have been listening to a lot of Eno's first 4. Everyone seems to like the last track the best. It's pay what you want on Bandcamp. Orrr you can purchase a cassette version for 5bux.

This is my debut EP Hypersleep. Its dreamy electronica. Boy/girl vocals on 2 tracks, lots of analogue synth and found sound style percussion. If you like stuff like Four Tet, Shigeto, Mount Kimbie et al, then you just might dig this.

Discount Philosopher and Cat Whisperer
Decades ago, I attended a small Science Fiction convention. One of the entertainers, Leslie Fish, is a Filk artist (Filk is "science fiction folk music) and I bought a cassette tape from her of an album FIRESTORM: Songs Of World War III. Cassettes don't have a very long life span so I (being low tech) had the tape converted to AIFF and again, years later, I converted it to MP3.

This album (?) was never released by the artist although she has a lot of other music that is in print. She also breeds polydactyl cats for intelligence and is and all around VIP (Very Interesting Person). Because I'm attracted to morbidity in music (and other media) I always wanted to share this with others but I'm also one of those old guys who honors copyrights. A week ago, I managed to contact her and she gave me written permission to offer this album to anyone I wanted without remuneration. Her only requirement was that I identify the work as being that of Leslie Fish and she requested that I name her website, http://lesliefish.com/.

I've researched (as in googled) and there is no other place on this planet where you could obtain this album. You can find the lyrics, but no place to obtain the music itself.

Because of the 3rd generation transfer of tape/AIFF/MP3, the quality is meh and the volume is a bit low. But I feel it's worth it. The songs reflect the breakdown of society, the war itselff, the aftermath and the revenge. There is substantial political and philosophical content, this is music that makes you think.

Now I'm new here and I hope that posting these links won't be a fatal error. I assure you the MP3s are not booby-trapped, that your downloading them is with full consent and that you may further share them if you wish. My purpose is to make a contribution, I have no other benefit of any kind in doing this. I paid to rent the "space" these are stored in.

This is the whole album: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/dkxr51w4g4l3x/Firestorm_by_Leslie_Fish and these are the individual links to listen or download each song. I added the numbers in front of each title to keep them in storyline order, the original album may be slightly different.

a bunch of friends of mine have this hardcore/crossover band called the new low, and their latest record, "misery," is downloadable for free from their bandcamp, in whichever quality you so wish - a word of caution, though, i wouldn't recommend the streaming service on bandcamp, the quality is atrocious on my end, it sounds like someone pressed the ULTIMATE TREBLE button, which is not how the album is supposed to sound. you can get it here: http://thenewlow.bandcamp.com/album/misery

for my money, it's a pretty killer record, and they've gotten some pretty sweet reviews for it, as well (internationally, too). the problem is, no one bought it, hardly anyone downloaded the free album, which is partly to blame on the label due to some lackluster pr/marketing. in any case, i thought i'd throw it up here, see if anyone else would enjoy it. it's definitely worth listening through at least once.

I just posted this in the "Post your soundcloud" thread in the Musician's lounge but thought I'd post it here. There are 2 freely downloadable tracks on the album. We didn't use our own equipment to record the stuff so there are some bills that need paying and we want to produce more stuff so free isn't an option yet as much as I wish we could.

Anyhow, this is my band, Corpse Melon, and our first LP "What the Public Wants and Why it Doesn't Matter", it's pretty all over the place as far as a genre goes but it has an electric bass, guitar, drums and vocals so you can at least get an idea from that. The 2 free tracks are Space Monkeys and You're a Loser. All the tracks can be listened to but only those can be downloaded.

EDIT: Just after I posted this I wound up realizing I had accidentally uploaded the unmastered tracks to bandcamp. Not sure how I did that but I'm correcting the issue.
