Always worth posting some Cardiacs MP3's for the curious:

Very much a love or hate band and quite hard to categorize. I like the combination of quite complex progish structure with (post)punk energy. Think The Pixies playing Genesis covers.

If you only download one go for Fiery Gun Hand.

Good call on the Cardiacs, comrade Chairman. I recommend searching Youtube for "Cardiacs Tarred and Feathered."

A song-a-day, 365 day long collection of outsider music, which ranges from high school band rock covers to disco accordion freakouts. Great for the comedy if not always the musicianship.

New Jersey radio station WFMU is passionately devoted to the free MP3, streaming and otherwise, and their blog is a densely populated bastion of music nerds and record enthusiasts. They've actually just started another 365 day project, too. (Also: check out the recent post that contains every known cover of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Grieg.)

The entire discography of the Desperate Bicycles, this ramshackle postpunk band, which is completely unavailable anywhere else. Advice on Arrest is the best song.
