It's Mysterious Object At Noon since the only surviving element is a 35mm dupe negative. Kind of infuriating that a movie made in 2000 lost its negative.

The rest all seem to be 2K or 4K. Seems to be 2K when only lesser elements survive, while anything from camera negatives is 4K.

That's really interesting, thanks.

Also forgot to mention before but hell YES @ Ghost World

I'd be surprised if they were working on this without also working on Through A Glass Darkly and Winter Light.

Agreed, especially since it's the least acclaimed (rightfully imo) film in the trilogy, I believe.

Does anyone know any good region free players like that one that can be purchased in the UK/would ship from within the UK?

Seems silly to not organise something by number when they all have numbers on the spine. Then you just end up with a bunch of numbers in a jumbled-up order

We may not have your B+N sales over here in the UK, but this month we get A Brighter Summer Day and Stalker, which is just about the most perfect month possible for me that doesn't include a Lynch.

Glad to hear the Criterion FWWM is the same quality as the one from Complete Mystery. I'd be a total dork about not having the best-quality version.

I loved Girls but couldn’t make it very far into Tiny Furniture. It’s basically Dunham haters’ concept of Girls, but maybe even more irritating than that.

Other than TF being a bad movie, I really hate the story of how it got on Criterion. Basically, Scott Rudin is a friend of Lena Dunham’s parents, who are huge in the NYC art scene. Scott Rudin pressured Janus Films to put TF into the Criterion selection as a favor to them by threatening to withhold the rights to other films Janus wanted.

Do you have any kind of source on this?

I’m the same. I had seen Breathless and Week End and loved them, but that one just felt.....so empty. I feel like that about a lot of his flicks really. Great style but either no substance or the substance is nonsense

Got home today and my neighbours had my copy of Bergman’s Cinema!!!!! Aaahhhhhh!!!!! It’s loving huge!!!!!

Also it just reminded me why do Criterion have their sleeves etc backwards always? Like if it was a book it would be right-to-left instead of left-to-right. It doesn’t really bother me but I do find it bizarre
