I think everybody cranking their "character" to 10 for youtube makes them that much more grating. Demuro being a car dork makes him extra dorky, Ed being a skeezy salesman makes him extra skeezy, Cleetus being dumb makes him constantly shred expensive engines.

Even Vice Grip Garage dude is starting to wear on me, and his videos are everything i want out of a car video usually.

Here is where the liners go:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3MjC5sS4TY

rebuilt on the ground in a dusty shop without a torque wrench. new bearings slapped on grooved bearing journals. head bolt torque just 3 hard tugs. I can't imagine how they last 50,000 miles. It's a shame because these guys look like they could rebuild that engine blindfolded.

Also Marty from MCM seems like an absolute top bloke and it would break my heart to find out he's not.

Also, in the newest roadkill garage, freiburger is going full boomer, pulling the hellcat out of the general mayhem for a carb'd 440, and wanting to take the ford 9 inch out for a dodge 8 3/4. next thing you know he's going to want to do a showroom restoration and ask $150k for it at barrett jackson

Except if you watch the show you can see that all of that stuff was hacked into the car to make it a drag car. He didn't want it to be a drag car and having all of that extra complexity in the car is really not needed. They had to put the ENTIRE harness from a hellcat into the car to get the motor to work. It also had the steering wheel and stuff from a hellcat which looks really stupid in that car. Also he is not really setup to work with late model stuff where as he has tons of stuff for older mopar motors, as he mentions he had a forged crank for it just laying around.

It's ultimately his car and he can do whatever he wants, but it seems to me he took something interesting and made it less interesting. The swap was done 6 years ago before the hellcat was sold as a crate engine with a stand-alone harness.

related: Birdsong has a 3-part series on the chassis restoration:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlnDeFLqhhg

That car was unbelievably jacked, way beyond what freiburger talked about in the episode. It's hard to tell which inconsistencies were 50 years of abuse and which were factory chrysler, but it was a crazy amount of work.

Since when do you even need to pick car locks? You put an air bladder in the door jamb, inflate it, and use a rod to hit the power unlock button.

It's more a matter of vehicles using more interesting keys and people owning them than having a reason to pick it.

I get excited whenever a new video from this guy pops up. He's an australian guy who fixes big caterpillar parts. He also collects, restores, and uses older machining equipment. He seems extremely knowledgeable and takes enormous pride in his work.

His dog is loving awesome too, goes batshit for squeaky toys.

Not quite as compelling as previous videos, but that car is insane. Vegas is just parking structures and straight roads.

Ken and Scotto did a video about the car itself, and they said they went through over 100 tires for this video, where previous gymkhanas went through about 40.
