My dad and I were watching an old episode of T.J. Hooker earlier, and one of those character actors you see in everything was a suspect in a crime. Going from my dad's "Hey, that guy was in [X] movie!," here are the details:

This guy played a P.O.W. during Vietnam, and the Vietcong was keeping him in dark isolation underground. I guess they were doing experiments on him because they would only feed him raw meat and nothing else. Eventually, the guy turns into some monster like a werewolf or some carnivorous creature from eating nothing but the meat.

Sorry, but that's all my dad remembers. I don't even know the actor's name, but maybe this will stir some memories. Of note, Hooker was on in the early 80s, so this movie had to have been from that time or maybe a few years earlier.

two movies.

(1) it was made in the 70s or late 60s. i saw it on TV a few halloweens back, so i guess it was supposed to be some sort of suspense/horror movie but it wasn't particularly scary. there was a very pretty young woman with long blonde hair and pale eyes, and her mother -- or maybe the girl, or the grandmother, or someone -- had been kidnapped, or locked up, or something, or maybe no one was locked up or kidnapped at all, i don't really remember. there was no father as far as i can remember.

anyway, i think there was a scene where the girl was talking to the mother, or the grandmother, and the grandmother was senile, and the mother would prattle on histrionically about something, maybe being kidnapped, or having been kidnapped in the past, or something else entirely. there were also two henchman like guys, and one had dark hair and was neanderthal like, and i think he was dating the girl, but he might not have actually been dating her; maybe she was pretending to love him. in any case, one scene i know for certain is that they (the blonde girl and the dark-haired neanderthal like person) were walking through the woods, or some kind of field, and there were trees and things. i think it was sunny. there was some kind of purpose or plot to this or something.

i really don't remember anything about the movie very well.

(2) i think it was an 80s or early 90s movie. it was a horror movie. i saw it maybe two decades ago, when i was very young. i only remember one scene. there was a girl (or maybe girl-like boy) with dark hair and very pale, sallow skin, and she had her tongue cut out, and when she spoke it sounded like someone who had had their tongue cut out. i think she was trying to tell the person who found her something, but wasn't able to.

(1) Long shot, but maybe The Shuttered Room aka Blood Island? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062266/

(2) Not a horror movie, but there's a scene like that in Flesh+Blood. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089153/

I think the hand was pretty gross-looking too.

2. This one is even more vague. I think I saw this late one night on TV while I was watching alone. It seemed like it was sort of psychedelic and there were lots of characters with long hair and beards, so I think it might have been from the 70's. This too was some kind of horror movie. i THINK that the main characters were actors in a play, or were trying to put on some kind of production. Or, it might have just been some kind of dinner party. The main thing that I remember about it was that there was some kind of object or something, i think, and when people looked into it, all of a sudden they were being hypnotized by this evil-looking dude's face that may or may not have had red glowing eyes. I believe this face also had long brown hair and a beard or mustache. From what I can remember, people would become possessed after seeing this face, or else hypnotized. Then they either died or killed someone else. All I remember is that something bad went down. The main thing I remember of the movie is just that there was a group of people and they were being terrorized by this evil face that was trying to hypnotize or possess them.

Horror Express? Although it's not apparent from the IMDb description, the kind of stuff you describe goes on in this movie.

I only saw a bit of this movie, when I was a kid. My dad was watching it and my mom took me to the store partway through.
I think it was about aliens or monsters taking over the planet by incubating in people and then coming out. Not Alien.
The scene that I remember most is that there was this guy, who had a thick mustache, and I think that he becomes "pregnant" and everyone is amazed that a guy is pregnant and nobody can explain it. Then, one day, he's on his floor in his living room and in pain, and suddenly his stomach is flayed open and there are these little nasty monsters popping out. For some reason I seem to remember that there was little blood and it showed the flayed edges of his stomach looking like torn up baloney flapping around. That really grossed me out as a kid and is an image that has stuck with me. This whole thing might have been one segment in some kind of anthology movie.

I hope this is a real memory and not some kind of amalgamation of memories of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Alien, and American Werewolf in London

This might be Shivers aka The Parasite Murders aka They Came From Within.

The scene I remember is a big shoot-out / chase scene through all the scene rooms they had set up, and the robots just kept on doing what they were programmed to do, as they couldn't tell that unexpected things were going on around them. In one part, there's a family having breakfast like nothing at all is wrong while a guy who was just shot dead is sprawled across their table.

For some reason, I found this scene to be particularly funny as a child.

Eventually the main character ends up bumping into the other characters at the end, and each scene where he just missed them adds up into one entire story.

This may have taken place in France. The buildings were very modern, silver. And there is a scene where a new hot restaurant opens up at the end. All of the characters we have seen before are here, then all hell breaks loose. If I remember correctly there is hardly any dialog for most of the film.

It is a film from the seventies with an actor similar to Stacy Keach, who plays a Bad Lieutenant-style anti-hero cop with an extreme racist streak. Apparently the intent behind the film was to show this characters actions as wrong, but the actor went to a screening of his own film in a coastal metropolis (I think New York, but it could've been Seattle or another similar city) and the audience was cheering the lead on. The actor supposedly swore off all similar roles past that. I'm really curious as to if this is a real story, or if somehow in the past few years of searching I've added or altered details to the anecdote.

This is a horror movie. I think the opening scene is in a parking garage where a woman is going to her car, drops her keys and gets killed in some fashion but it doesnt show who killed her. If its not the opening scene its in the movie somewhere.

There is one scene where a grave is dug up/ someone put in a grave/ a body is missing from a grave. There might have been a dog in the grave/or a child.

I think the ending takes place is some sort of research lab/hospital at night.

I think the monster is some sort of shapeshifter/takes human form or something to that effect.

By shapeshifter i didnt mean werewolf, just someone/something taking form of other people. (not the thing).

In the ending, a guy is in the research facility and the glass revolving door leading to the outside is locked or something and the woman outside is trying to tell him that someone is inside there with him who is the monster. And I think someone gets thrown through a window in the end/possibly how the monster/dude dies.
