Is it this part where he shoots the other team's mascot or does he shoot someone else as well?

From the writer of 100 Women (aka Girl Fever) as well as Prehysteria!, Prehysteria! 2 and Prehysteria! 3. He also wrote/directed Monster Man which is basically a slasher film about a Monster Man who drives a Monster Truck which sounds like something he came up with when he was stoned and then all his buddies dared him to go through with it.

And then in a career twist he wrote/directed the Clive Owen flick Shoot 'Em Up. Didn't see that coming.

This might be a hard one.

It had to do with a vaguely square-shaped desert prison where the inmates had collars around their necks that exploded if they crossed a certain boundary. There were also sand-fish that sliced off people's arms and legs pretty much randomly.

I might be confusing two movies that I saw as a child and mixing them together, though.

The Running Man had a classic explosive collar/desert prison scene:

My girlfriend and I have been racking our brains for ages trying to figure out which Japanese Godzilla movie she found a trailer for that, at one point, had an older guy on the streets of Tokyo start yelling at Godzilla mid-rampage only for Godzilla to turn around and do his screechy roar at the guy turning his hair white.

I could be misremembering the details, which is entirely likely as my memory is worth poo poo these days, but my girlfriend remembers the rough gist of that part of the trailer. Dude yells at Godzilla, Godzilla roars back.

Please help.

edit: I don't think it's Godzilla 2000, Tokyo SOS, Final Wars or All-Out Monster Attack, nor do I think it's Shin Godzilla

I just happened to remember some movies I saw as a kid, and one was some live-action Stranger Danger type thing on VHS. The main character was some sort of alien or something, he ate goldfish out of a bowl (despite one of his parents offering him an egg every morning, though he took it in the end after being rescued from a kidnapper or whatever) and he had a "zapper" on his wrist that could teleport him out of danger. I have no idea why I just remembered it but in retrospect it was weird as heck, and I think a lot of it was only tangentially related to the "don't go with strangers" message it was meant to get across. I think I saw it at least twenty years ago. Maybe a bit more or less, since I'm twenty-six and was pretty young when I saw it.

Does anyone else remember this?

Red Letter Media reviewed it at some point, I'm pretty sure.

Apparently that was based on a book by Brian Stroud and Alan Lee. Every now and then you can get a glimpse of their art style in the animation but that wasn't a very good adaptation, if you were a fan of their stuff and you heard a cartoon was coming out based on their book you would have been pretty disappointed with the end result.

A few years ago I tried to find and rewatch every movie I'd seen parts of on late-night television when I was younger. I didn't get very far with it because so many of these movies were really bad action movies from the early 90s, but it allowed me to rediscover things like Boogie Nights and Traffic.

However, there is one that I've never been able to discover a title for, which I've mentioned a couple of times in this thread. It was aired on one of the terrestrial UK channels (probably Channel Four) which was running some documentaries on video nasties and "the dark side of porn" and it was presumably chosen for its thematic consistency with the latter subject (this is also how I first saw 8mm and, amusingly enough, Showgirls).

The movie was about a lonely, nebbish office worker who is obsessed with finding "realistic" pornography as a substitute for his unfulfilling love life, and eventually he decides to start directing his own movies to achieve his vision. He ends up secretly recording himself having sex with his new girlfriend and when she goes to his producer to try and get the tape back, he shoots her dead by accident, and the tape is released while he's in prison. Movie ends with him sitting alone watching the video and narrating about how people said he should have been in jail longer, but he'll never be free.

It turns out that Wikipedia actually has a list of films about pornography, it might be in there

I think Torque is genius parody. They even have them deliver the "live my life a quarter mile at a time" line followed by "that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard". The do bike Kung Fu in front of huge product placement. And Adam Scott gets to be the gman who doesn't play by the rules. It's so good, until you realize that the F&F franchise later lapped them in the unreality aspect. Right now it might seem too grounded to be parody.

Edit: They use a giant oversize key to start this sequence. This whole sequence is gold.

Oh dang, that reminds me of a Youtube video I saw years ago which was a fake trailer for a movie about a cop trying to infiltrate the illegal streebike racing scene in his city, except the bikes were hilariously tiny. I think the people behind the video got the idea when they won a toy motorbike in a carnival game and realised they could actually ride it. At one point the characters fight and one guy pulls his motorbike from behind his back like he's pulling a switchblade. Also the main character gets shot in the head but I think he just shrugs it off?

I revisited the Max Headroom narrative TV show recently after watching a lot of (bad) cyberpunk and came away really impressed. It's goofy as hell but really nails the tenets of Western cyberpunk in a way that no other TV show manages—or most movies, honestly. I'd highly recommend it if you haven't caught it and dig cyberpunk. The titular character is thankfully a pretty minor presence and is well utilized when he's around.

Also check it out if you're a fan of the live action Super Mario movie because it was directed by the same people
