I just stopped reading them a while ago, because no matter how minor the problem, they will make it sound like the end of the world.

For the people that see those issues it is the end of the world for them (with regards to that product at least). As in everything A/V there is no substitute for checking the product out yourself. Preferably at a good store where they'll let you use your own media for the test.
