Because when I think Terry Pratchett's books, I think cool action.

Looks like a show produced and scripted by people who deep down, in their heart of hearts, don't believe that Terry Pratchett's setting or humor would work on TV in 2021. Which makes one wonder why they licensed the setting to begin with, if not to trick people who like Discworld into watching.

Basically this, except lol at deep down.

Look, it was nothing personal, just business. The CGI was too costly :v:

Nthing that I've enjoyed the Colour Of Magic, but it definitely isn't the same Discworld as the later books.

I started by being gifted The Truth more or less at random. Definitely left me wanting for more.

Long earth was good read, but I gave up shortly after starting the third book.

Is this a different German publisher than the one that was secretly adding Maggi Soup advertisements in the middle of the text?

I started off with The Truth and enjoyed it greatly. Going to Colour of Magic afterwards was quite the shock though.

The first Pratchett I read was a short story featuring Granny Weatherwax, then I went and started from The Color of Magic.

It's a good short story:

goddamn that sure is a website design

Thanks for linking it though, I almost forgot this one existed.

I started with the truth, and later read other books as I got my hands on them

Moving pictures were fun for the first 2/3, maybe 3/4, but the finale invoked the " force of narrative necessity" as motivation for everything happening too much for me.

The issue with Tomb Raider was that cutscene-Lara was scared young girl in way over her head. Gameplay-Lara was unholy offspring of Terminator and Predator, hunting people for sport, whos biggest issue with jumping into 10 armed enemies was how terribly unfair it was to those 10 guys.

The story was probably fine, but as a whole the game made me learn the term ludonarrative dissonance and is the first (and only) game I quit over that.

The torture porny parts didn't help either.
