Anyone into Shalabi Effect? I've been digging their self-titled lately. They're from Montreal but it's a lot less mogwaishly noodly than most bands of that scene, there's kind of Middle Eastern guitar parts and interesting experiments with all sorts of noise. Someone described the album to be "like a lava lamp".

Yanqui UXO has no samples so you might enjoy it. It's my fav GYBE album though F&c. is great too.
