Sigur Ros released the new remastered version of ( ) for its 20th anniversary today. It's got 3 bonus tracks as well as alternate studio session recordings of Untitled 6, 7 and 8. Also I'm seeing Godspeed again on Sunday. I need to listen to God's Pee At State's End again because it's been a while.

I saw Godspeed again and they loving closed with East Hastings I've been wanting to hear that song live for like 20 years ever since I first heard it in 28 Days Later. That's the song that got me into them. Life = complete. e: More specifically The Sad Mafioso... section of East Hastings Rageaholic fucked around with this message at 06:38 on Oct 31, 2022 |

Aww, I like On Circles. I just listened to it again the other day. It's not my personal favorite album of theirs, but it's still very good IMO. And this live version of Wildblood is phenomenal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBVhI09vL5U The one I didn't care much for was Dust & Disquiet tbh, so I was glad that I really enjoyed On Circles after that.

That time ruled, though, and they played Arcs of Command then too. I wish I could hear them play some of the tracks from On Circles live.

It didn't get posted ITT yet but Caspian's On Circles: The Complete Sessions, which I believe was previously a vinyl-only release, is now on streaming services as of a few days ago. It features new album art and a reordered tracklist with 3 new tracks, Nagoya, Barfly and Vortices. I like these new tracks but don't love them. Vortices is definitely my favorite of the bunch. I think the original tracklist is more to my liking and that the album starts off on a much stronger note when it opens with Wildblood. Still, it's neat to be able to listen to this since I don't currently have a way to play vinyl.

hatelull posted:Houston show is on my birthday! I'm not super familiar with either of those bands. Where should I start? My favorite Caspian album is probably still Tertia, which has Sycamore, the song they close most of their sets with and one of the sickest closers I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live. And as for ASIWYFA, my favorite of theirs is probably Heirs, but like I said, you can't really go wrong with any of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btqn9hbZgNE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fErnR_e0Tg Rageaholic fucked around with this message at 17:29 on Feb 7, 2024 |

I spent today listening to ASIWYFA's entire discography. It's mostly fantastic, with their latest Jettison being the only one I wasn't into as much. That one sounds more like a film score than a proper ASIWYFA album, which isn't bad, but I just connected to the proper ASIWYFA albums way more. It's got strings and spoken word passages in addition to their regular sound. Even on Jettison, though, there's elements of what makes those other albums of theirs great. They're just not as pronounced IMO. hatelull, if you're still looking for a place to start with them, I'd suggest any of their albums except for Jettison. They even have a live album that sounds killer, if you want to hear what to expect from the show in the summer. Rageaholic fucked around with this message at 21:00 on Feb 8, 2024 |

I've seen GY!BE 4 times, but the last time I saw them (October of 2022) was the best time because they played East Hastings. I had been waiting like 20 years to hear that song live ever since first hearing it in 28 Days Later.
