I actually enjoy tigging steel. Its moderately paced, calm, easy to do and an ugly tig weld looks nicer than a decent arc weld. Tigging aluminum isn't these things, you move quick, it isn't as nice and quiet, etc.

No way, a good arc weld can be beautiful! I always screw up the ends though.

Actually if I had my druthers I'd weld with nothing but O/A. It takes forever but I like being in complete control.

Wow. Dovetails are gorgeous, naturally. Did you rout out a channel for the middle shelf? Is there any hardware in there at all?
