Being a hockey player all my life I collected a lot of broken sticks. After accumulating quite a few I decided to build something out of the scrap lumber. My first project was a small shelf, which I can't seem to find a picture of on my computer. After that turned out to be successful, I moved on to a coffee table. Here's the plan, I drew it up in TurboCAD During production Completion I was fortunate enough to have a friend who worked at my local rink, he was able to give me a piece of broken plexi-glass to cut the bottom shelf and top table piece out of. The glass is a bit thick for a table, and is used and has scuffs and scratches in it, but the combination of used sticks and glass from the rink give the table a very authentic hockey feel. If I ever make another however, I'm going to study up on some carpentry techniques in order to make more sturdy joints as it has a slight wobble when weight is applied to it (read: no feet on the table). Hadlock posted:I was thinking about spilling a soda/beer/egg salad and the resulting fruit flies, etc. I think it's a great solution, especially in your situation, but cleaning seems like it'll be a chore to clean. Are those tiles dishwasher safe? If it was outside (not on a balcony) you could probably just spray it out with a hose.
