I was slacking and am only now getting to my 2022 Year End Mashups List. I suspect "I'm Good (Blue)" will feature in all these. DJs From Mars with a strong entry as usual. Starts off pretty mellow, but that might just be the music from the year. Even the drop after "Unholy" felt like it should have hit harder. That said, they're trying to tell a narrative, which I do appreciate in a bunch of songs not designed to fit together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh7B-nTvRPc DJ Earworm, still going pretty strong. Pretty sure it was one of their first year end mashups that got me keeping track of the year enders. But, like recent Earworm jams, it isn't bad it just isn't outstanding in any way. I think "Running up that Hill" gets in on a technicality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0py9fkak8tU Robin Skouteris' entry, probably my standout favorite so far. It's longer by far than the previous two, so it can build and hit in the right spots while letting it breathe in others. First time we've heard "I ain't worried" I think, which is surprising given how big a hit Maverick was. Third time we've seen "You know it's not the same as it was...as it was...etc" which beats my "I'm Good" prediction. Longer, so like Robin Skouteris' it's broken into chapters of sorts, which really helps. Going heavy on Stranger Things, I aint mad. At least this oen puts a little english onto "As it was".
