I used to join a random clan counterstrike source server, die as soon as possible, then conduct a text adventure in global chat.

>You are in a dusty corridor. Gunfire can be heard in the east. There are exits to the north, south and east.

Usually I'd be banned right away but a couple of times I had the whole server playing along.

Adter reading all the great creative ways to grief people, a group of people crashing tf2 servers by spamming the flare gun exploit sounds really loving pathetic.

Can't you see the difference between creative griefing and just being a lowest common denominator dickhead? Where is your pride?

being useless in tf2

When I get bored of playing tf2 properly, I join a random public server, go spy, and see how long I can stand on heavy weapons guy's heads before being killed. I get a fair bit of abuse from my own team who happen to spectate me while dead. I also get abuse for having a very low score.

Once I managed to stand on a sniper's head for a good 5 minutes, continually using the "jeer" voice command to insult him after every shot.

Hilarious.

This is great. totally loving brilliant. loving love it.

I will never play eve but I love reading about griefing in that game, especially on this scale. This latest BoB takeover by goonswarm was reported on shacknews which is where I first read about it.

From the eve forums:

When I finally got it working I changed my name to "The Magical Intel Fairy" and told them that they had to eschew the cynicism of modern society and joyfully believe in the wonder of magic.

When I never actually gave the intel back, people started to get angry, so I suggested that the problem was their lack of ruby slippers.

I got banned shortly after that.

Just like the flare gun exploit, this isn't funny and isn't creative enough to be good griefing. It's just pathetic.

To pre-empt the usual replies, no I haven't been affected by this bug and that's not why I'm posting. I'm posting about it because it's just the most plebian form of griefing... pedestrian... boring... not funny.

You spelled "plebeian" wrong, which is funny, given the context.

To contribute, in Warcraft III often my goal is to make the other team stay in game as long as possible. Here is a game where the enemy is forced to stay in game for 27 hours to get their win.

Oh well I made a typo, my point still stands.

Read the thread for some decent examples of good creative griefing which don't involve an easy to exploit bug that anybody can do. The Belan stuff is amazing for example.

They are all jumping on me because they are all non-entities with nothing worth saying so they jump on the nearest available bandwagon while making GBS threads out the same old poo poo posts we've all seen a million times before.

You've also explained why it's not funny much better than I did.

The team they where against in that video found it and got mad.

You should also note the same sniper in that video got banned for a short while from US TF2 goon server for "hacking" earlier this year.

Best bit in that video is the headshot to the rocket jumping soldier then the casual body shot to finish.

Seems like you got griefed gay porn dude. I mean let's face it, you are certainly aggrieved that you got banned from a server for breaking their rules. Why not find a new home among the millions of other servers out there? The greatest thing about your post is justifying your fetish by claiming other people "can't handle the net"

The second life post above was fantastic. That's all great stuff you posted there.
