Janet Varney has a few guest appearances on TV shows (I remember her being in episodes of Psych and How I Met Your Mother). They're both founders of the SF Sketch Fest so that's probably how they met the Rifftrax crew.

It was pretty cool. They had problems though, the first attempt the stream crapped out a couple minutes into the short and they had to get things working again and start over.

They appear to still be having some problems, their entire website isn't working.

Assuming that renaming it from .divx to .avi didn't work, you can try to snag VirtualDub (http://www.virtualdub.org/download.html). You should be able to open a video file in one format with that and transcode it to a different codec. Probably can't do that in a half an hour though, but it shouldn't take much longer than it does to play the video, so if you get on that you can get it done in time (hopefully).

If you can get the .divx to open in VirtualDub you might not need to transcode it at all. Set Video to "Direct Stream Copy" and save the file as an .AVI. The 360 supports Divx/Xvid in AVI format.

A heads-up to Netflixers: the Rifftrax is for the theatrical release and Netflix only has the unrated version.

However, the unrated version is about 9 seconds shorter than the theatrical version. Here's a site that shows the differences. I'll tag the site as :nws: for gore.

The disc (Drag Me To Hell) should have both versions of the movie on it.

Quick question. There's a riff done in both The Room and Fast And Furious (both great 'trax but the Disembaudio parts of The Room get old fast) where they go "DISCONNECT! *BZZ* DISCONNECT!". That's gotta be a reference to something but I can't figure it out.

Anyone know what that's about?

Some old guy on youtube claims he can fight various mental issues with what he calls "disconnect thereapy".

I thought the fight scene was terrible. They spend the majority of the movie building up this "newborn army" as some massive threat and they end up getting defeated with little effort.

I'm surprised they didn't at least tweak the design of the bots just because some of the parts are hard to find now. I know they were able to recreate a lot of the stuff using casts and vacuforming but I understand they still rely on using the actual Tupperware Floralier planters for Crow's body.
