How's the Reign of Fire rifftrax? Since we're on the subject of Dragon movies anyway.

Releases on 10/22.

The good news: I loved the riff of the first movie.
The bad news: I have to either buy or rent this.

I can imagine a riff of Eraserhead just being the gang doing a play by play of the events in the movie. "Well, it seems like those tiny chickens are excreting a dark black liquid. Well, now the old lady is getting hysterical about something, I don't know."

It'd probably go over as well as my first viewing of Eraserhead. It'd include lots and lots of weeping begging for an explanation.

Has anybody here ever tried to sync one of these mp3's with a movie other than on your computer? Like say I only have Transformers on blu-ray and my BD player is in my living room. It seems like it would be really impractical; all I can think of is putting the mp3 onto my iPod, setting up a separate set of small speakers in the living room, and plugging the iPod into that.

What is the way most people who are buying the mp3s are watching these?

Back when I lived at home this was the way I watched rifftrax. My friends had a cheapo surround sound that I gave them and we plugged the iPod into it and used the TV's speakers for the movie.

The ROTK rifftrax was pretty good, but I had completely forgotten about this until I saw that very homoerotic feeling end scene where Frodo wakes up after Mount Doom. Nothing can top that, even rifftrax couldn't.

(That's because it has Robocop.)

Why have I never seen this until now?

I gave up long ago on trying to explain to people why Starship Troopers is almost literally a perfect film (for what it set out to accomplish). There seems to just be this big divide between people who "get it" and people who insist there was nothing to "get".

Looking at that list, I can't believe I haven't gotten the Wicker Man riff (because I didn't know it existed), and I'm really surprised they haven't done Catwoman yet.

If they were to do Catwoman I'd hope Mary Jo comes in for it like she did for Glitter.
