2000 GT 5 Speed. 99% Bone stock. Bought it with just over 50k miles for less than $8k. It has a CAI, but eventually a full exhaust and suspension will be had (hopefully). Not pictured are the Blizzaks it's currently wearing.

But the other day I stopped by a lot for the hell of it and after looking at one for a while, it really grew on me. Hopefully my next ride will be near identical to yours. How do you like it so far? Motor Trend couldn't say enough about the "amazing handling," but I tend to take everything they say with a grain of salt.

To this day, I feel that the 355 is the best looking car that Ferrari has produced in decades. Nice ride.

BabyJesus posted:There is legislation in the Illinois congress right now to allow for 35% all around the windows (except windshield). If you have anything less than 35% in the rear, they will allow up to 50% for the front side glass. The bill was basically approved, but Govenor Quinn rejected it because the wording would have made certain SUVs and minivans with OEM tinted glass illegal. He sent it back for them to update the wording, and thats the last I've heard of it. Wait, so you can go as dark as 35% on the fronts, but if your back ones are darker you can only go to 50%? Maybe I'm reading something wrong. But yeah, I had just bought my car not too long before I got pulled over for it, so I just played dumb. Luckily I got a nice officer and he let me off with a warning. Edit: Just read through that again - I think I had it backwards. BabyJesus posted:Yes the proposed bill is you can have 35% all around (as long as you have a rearview and both side mirrors). You can still have any % tint you want on the doors "not immediately adjacent to the driver", but if you have anything less than 35% light transfer, the new maximum allowed in the front is 50%. As nice as it would be to get some tint back on my front windows, I can't help but think how dumb it would look to have my dark-as-poo poo back windows and only 50% front windows.

Would probably still be in the family if my dad hadn't screwed up setting the parking brake and sent it down the driveway, into the backyard, into a tree at like 40mph. That is easily the best looking 2 door XJ I've ever seen. Literally every 2 door I've seen has rust holes you could put a fist through. Is that a 5 speed?

Yeah, there were two holes where the oval was, but there wasn't any exposed metal so I just left it. I assume it's so they can just use the same trunk lid for all three models and just add the sticky badge on the left for GT or SVT.

It also fits into the category of "unusual mix of options" that the "only takes it out to wipe it with a diaper" crowd gets a massive boner for. I'll second this. When I worked at a copy shop, I had a guy come in to get the window sticker from his GS laminated. He looked pretty much exactly what you would expect him to look like.
