I'll go on the list, Jon - D&B, Dubstep London. And speaking of Dubstep... Screwball Scramble Cotti & Doctor - Calm Down D1- Lostep Babylon System - California Style Benga - Crunked Up >>The Count & Sinden - Hardcore Girls Headhunter - Sushi Brain TRG - Broken Heart (Martyn Mix) lazy glide into Burial - Shell Of Light and Conquest - Forever (D1 Mix) Rusko - Mr. Chips Benny Page - Step Out D1 - I'm Lovin Headhunter - Drop The Waste Geiom - Reminissin' Shut Up And Dance - Epileptik (Martyn's No Strobe Remix) Vista - Fiyah! Unknown (Kromestar?) - Wanna Be Down Benny Page - Swagger 37ish mins - pretty undubsteppy as it happens. Bits are cool .. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=2b53fbc77eecef87d2db6fb9a8902bda .. I think Chemical Records (http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/) could be added, being one of the best all-genre vinyl distributors I know. Certainly in the UK. Equally, the wonderful Let's Talk Drum & Bass! (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2242766) and Let's Talk Dubstep! (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2945218) deserve adding to the links. Lots of extra information about the genres there...

Also, "Europe"? Ouch, man. I don't think we need to be quite so tight on the controls of a thread that is, after all, about a hobby. Anae: Do you play out? Who with? I may have seen you!

On a totally seperate point, does anyone facing doing a collabo DnB mix? I'm sure there's a way to make it happen.

IanTheM posted:Hopefully some of you guys will enjoy this. Brilliant. I am excited as hell about hearing this bit, and will hopefully follow up. the_psychologist posted:I may get laughed out of SA for this, but here's a UK Hardcore/Trancecore mix that showcases a few artists from the late 90s who pushed the boundaries of the style in a huge way. If you cannot deal with 180 BPM and occasional uplifting piano, then stay away. But overall it's a filthy, melodic, cerebral voyage through Helix, Fury and their many guises. It was basically a way for me to set down in stone the majority of their music and maybe turn on new people to what they did. Again, I really really cannot wait, there's nothing wrong with Hardcore if you're in the mood. Why do I check this thread at work??

vanilla slimfast posted:RE: Botanic Gardens set...glad you dig it. This year's derby party is coming up soon, and I am excited to be playing out at the lily pond again this year so look for a recording of that set to be posted up in May. It got me through my finals revision last year... I got to know it far too well. When "you've just killed James Bond (bond, bond, bond) came on, it was 25 minutes in and I could go stretch my legs. ...wait, is that creepy?

Terrible Horse posted:club music is sort of an economy. when a track is hot, it gets dropped everywhere, every night (sometimes multiple times a night). its flooding the market, its everywhere, so its value goes down. even if its a good track, if its reached that state and you play it, youre playing something worthless. Depends - the pleasure of recognition is something you can't underestimate. If you're about having fun (and granted, sometimes I'm not and I really do just want to explore), well known 'big tunes' serve a great bridges towards what you really want people to hear. Anyway my main question for everyone here is - I'm in the market for a new set of monitors. I have been struggling by on some admittedly great Logitech computer speakers for a while now, but they don't quite cut it at your average house party. What I need is a pair of speakers that sound pretty nice day-to-day, aren't too big, and won't distort when I turn them up enough to feed a 50-person house party. Oh, which are up to £200 for the pair. Anybody have any good experiences? (in return I'll put a mix up )
